Right now my PS3 is connected directly to my Bravia XBR2 via HDMI. I'm using an optical cable for audio.
I'm thinking about upgrading to either the Sony STR-DG810 or the STR-DG910. When I buy the new receiver, I plan to connect the PS3 directly to it via HDMI and then another HDMI from the receiver to the Bravia. My question: Will this affect my viewing of regular DVDs on the PS3. I don't want to lose the upconvert feature of the PS3. In other words: When playing regular DVDs on the PS3 will the upconverted signal still make it to the Bravia even though it now has to pass thru the receiver first then to the Bravia? I have heard that the 910 is the only one that lets upconverted pass through so I want to know for sure before I buy. |
