Default Tobor the Great

The review by Blu-ray.com is reasonable. However, I doubt that the reviewer was old enough to actually see this film when it was released in the '50s. For its time, the movie was different than other movies of that time and so there is a nostalgic feeling that is attached to it, as well as, It Came From Outer Space. The fact that Tobor the Great has a Blu-ray release is amazing. It is not likely to do well in Blu-ray release as It Came From Outer Space. Nonetheless, it was an immediate pre-release buy when it became available. Looking forward to it, no matter how hokey it turns out to be.

Man, zero comments in this thread? I'm on a 1950's sci-fi kick right now.

Anyone seen this?

only saw this on tv back in the 70s. it was ok but even by the 70s was pretty dated even by 50s sci-fi standards. can't say i got excited when announced but it is cool that it is on blu-ray.

shows in 123 collections so some one has bought it.

I saw it on VHS many moons ago. I also enjoy a good (well, bad) 50s sci-fi movie so I went in to this with high expectations, expecting another Robot Monster style laugh fest and I ended up being bored silly. Even at, what, 75 minutes I kept looking at my watch waiting for it to end. Proceed with caution if you decide to take a chance on it.

Well, I'm certainly not taking a chance on it at $18, that's for sure.

The Blu and the DVD are both currently in Kino Lorber's While Supplies Last sale -- meaning that they are not producing any more copies and are selling the last of their inventory.
They're each $9.99. Shipping in extra, so continue shopping in case you find some other jewels to spread out the cost.

I was looking back at my Amazon wishlist and saw this on there. It's OOP now so it would've been costly to buy. So I just watched this on YouTube to get a taste and...boy, snoozefest is right. Glad I skipped.
