I haven't seen this movie but I want to. Shame that it didn't so well but considering that a lot of people probably haven't and or aren't familiar with the franchise it is understandable.

Link says BD/DVD, and LEGO Batman was the same way, so I wouldn't expect 4K here.

Not going to get into a big debate about this movie, as this thread is about the steelbook, but I'll say the first half hour of this one was AWFUL. The remainder of the movie was typical Lego, fun with a few laughs, but man, the first thirty minutes was the definition of slog.

Really? That is a shame. I know that alot of fans were whining because it wasn't canon. I was like who cares it is a Lego movie. Hmm now that you said that the first 30 minutes aren't good I may have to rethink about getting it release date. Maybe I'll wait for a BF drop.

Like I said, the last hour is enjoyable for what these movies are, I was just astonished at how bad the first half hour was. I've seen on average 50-100 movies a year, for about 18 years, and that half hour was was sitting in my chair thinking, "WOW." Just to give you a baseline where that kind of bad is for me, I'm thinking Dreamcatcher or The Last Airbender bad.

I know Lego Batman got great reviews, but I wasn't impressed at all by it. I think I'll have to pass on this one if it's even worse than Lego Batman!

This is is the post I made on another forum the day I saw this with my Girlfriend and her siblings. We really like the Lego movies, her a fan of the Batman movie and I the original. Thought we do like both for different reasons.

Saw the Ninjago movie yesterday. Ehh....It's fun - I have no connection to the source material whatsoever, so maybe that taints my opinion a wee bit. It definitely has its funny moments, but of the three Lego movies so far, it definitely feels like the one most directed at kids. There's a great amount of missed opportunity when it comes to parodying Jackie Chan's film history, or even Kung Fu movies in general, which is where I feel like The Lego Batman movie bridged the adult-kid audience gap much better. Still visually as impressive as ever, which is always a treat with the movies though. But it does feel like it was scaled down compared to the previous two Lego movies. There's far less eye candy as far as world building comparatively. Overall it's fun, but I don't think it will have as wide an audience as the predecessors.

It feels like it was all cut down to be built (no pun intended) on a smaller budget.

Looks like I'll be importing whoever releases a 3D steelbook version then. Or buy this one and add a 3D disc to it.

It is worse. Very underwhelming and forgettable film. Too bad, because I love the other LEGO movies.

I'm going to roll the dice and wait until this goes on sale down the road. Most steels that aren't DC or Disney don't sell out at BB like they used to, even if they do a lot of them get a re-release now. Add that to the high price tag for just BD/DVD and I think it is safe to wait a bit.
