A big thanks to the Blu-ray.com staff - Blu-ray Forum

I was reminded today that a big thanks is long overdue to the blu-ray.com staff for giving us all a place on the internet where we can read all the Blu-ray news and discuss Blu-ray products free from the trolls that overran the other neutral sites the past year. I can say personally if it were not for the rant thread over in off-topic, I probably would have given up caring about HDM a long time ago.

All your efforts have truly helped make Blu-ray as strong as it is today. Everyone go enjoy a wonderful Blu 2008!

Agreed. This place is a mecca free of the red vs. blue back and forth, and has been a most pleasant place to visit and contribute to for these past many months as the format war has unfolded to its inevitable conclusion today.

Kudos to the staff here, as well as our Blu-ray insiders, who have come through time and again with tidbits to keep us informed (and keep morale up).

I couldn't agree more! If BR.com had a paid subscription option, I would pay. I have saved so much money because of this great site that it would be worth a $30 annual membership.

Great news, and congratulations to all the parties involved and to the blu-ray.com staff!

I hope that after the celebrations, we'll try to promote a message of unity and extend a warm welcome to the people who were on the other side of the fence. The sooner the format war ends, the better it is for the consumers (us included, because many more companies will jump in).

I have been mostly a lurker, as it is only a few days ago I even bought a player (have a PS3 now like so many). But I have really enjoyed reading a forum filled with great analysis, even when it wasn't necessarily positive for Blu-Ray - at least it was well thought out the people here are generally respectful.

And don't forget to thank the Toshiba/HDDVD guys for all their help in winning this war. Without their outstanding 15gb capacity discs, 3 or 4 lossless audio titles and wonderfully constructed Xbox machines- well, we just could not have done this without them.

HDDVD/ Toshiba gets my MVP award for their outstanding work in driving up Blu-ray sales!!
