Paramount A Quiet Place (2018)

Plot is completely under wraps but we got our first trailer today.

It was also Directed by John Krasinski. It’s based on a 10 year old script written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods and then rewritten by Krasinski. They have writing credits as well.

He's been pretty busy, acting/directing this while probably doing the Amazon Prime series Jack Ryan.

Had no idea this was being made.

Love the use of Alien Covenant music but the movie just looks OK. Hope its not another Paramount dud.

Not going to lie, looks pretty terrifying. If they manage to keep to the silence thing throughout and that have it become derivative jump scare-a-thon this could be really something, especially if there's something really to it. I'd love it if the entire thing was sign language as well, I think general audiences won't have the patience for that though, and with Platinum Dunes attached one has to wonder if it may get pandering after a while.

This is pretty cool.
I actually dug the scenes with no music.

I've been interested since I first heard about this. I love Emily and John. Looks great and actually unique, which is refreshing.

That looks really good. You can tell just from that trailer that it has some excellent cinematography.

Watched the trailer for the first time on my screening of The Last Jedi this past weekend and really caught my attention. The whole audience was in total silence when the trailer came on, that's normally a good sign. This could really be an interesting concept if done right, could almost pass for a silent film in the first act. Really looking forward to it.

I saw this trailer for the first time during TLJ and it got me really interested in this one. I think its a good idea for a horror film.

Yeah I think this is going to be one of the better horror releases of next year. Maybe not QUITE on the level of It Follows or The Witch, but leagues better than stuff in the Conjuring universe and Ouija/etc.

I happen to love The Conjuring so for me it’s a case of whether or not this film matches that quality.

The premise, and even the trailer had a very M. Night Shyamalan feel to it. I think it looks great, but I am worried that whatever they're afraid of will turn out to be something dumb, and disappointing to us.

I feel like that kinda just reflects the viewers own wants and expectations.

So many people disliked It Comes At Night because they were expecting a physical creature or monster to be stalking them, and were disappointed when there wasn't a physical presence. I personally had no thoughts or notions of what "It" could be, and ended up loving the movie as a result.

As long as you go into this movie with a completely open mind, and don't think about all the possibilities of what could be doing this to the main characters, you should enjoy the film. Always go into movies with reserved expectations and knowing as little as you can about it!

No. It was just falsely advertised as a Horror film when its really not.

I think back on a movie like The Village, which was beautifully filmed, and seemingly very haunting based off the trailer, but I found the "twist" to be rather anti-climactic. So yes, no doubt there are certain expectations as a viewer when you see a trailer, and/or read a premise. Sometimes movies live up to it, and sometimes they don't. I'm still optimistic here though.

The Village (2004) (Trailer) - YouTube
Man, I love The Village. Still one of my favorite films to this day. Highly underrated because the twist turned people off. It needs a blu-ray release ASAP.

As for this film, the trailer was great and extremely suspenseful. Definitely looking forward to this one.

Yup. The Conjuring films are pretty much the standard for today's horror films.
