Default The Matrix Rebooted

Anyone hear or read that they are thinking of rebooting the Matrix franchise and/or do spin off stories? Keanu Reeves said he would be interested in doing a 4th Matrix film.

Kind of a weird title for a movie. I am guessing the IT department had a hand in this one.

I hope not. I doubt anyone else would be able to put in as much thought as the Wachowski...erm... Sisters(?)

But I wouldn't mind a full blown live action adaptation of The Second Renassiance. And with an R rating, I think that can one of the most fascinating and brutal stories to tell.

Ufcourse they will. It was a successful brand. Its a guaranteed pay check for everybody involved.

Every single film ever released will always be rebooted or re done using new cameras and editing techniques.

As long as its done right and utilizes the latest tech to deliver great results go for it.

The originals that we all love will still be here for us to enjoy. Theyre not going anywhere.

I don't mind them remaking the movies as long as they try and differentiate them with more story elements from things such as the Animatrix which released in animated form and expanded the story a good bit.

I think the director and choreographers from The Raid would also do fantastic with The Matrix property as a whole given the right script.

Anybody else think it would be pretty meta for them to change the Oracle to a male and make it Keanu Reeves whilst making the Architect a female?

A spin off is fine, a reboot is despicable and a terrible idea. Hope its the former if anything.

THE MATRIX: Path of Neo video game was far superior over the last two movies. Enter The Matrix was decent too. Not interested in a reboot. Reboot some way older movies.
How about The Wonderful Wizard of OZ where it isn't a damn musical anymore and way closer in tone to the L. Frank Baum books?

That's not the title of the movie. It's the title of this thread. They are thinking of rebooting the Matrix franchise. I would like to see a Matrix movie about the first "Neo" that Morphious briefly talked about in the original Matrix film. It was the first "Neo" that became aware and set the the first humans free from the Matrix. This would obviously be a prequel, and I think it has great potential for a film.

All the more reasons you have to continue it there. Never heard of the rules that you have to start a new thread just because inactivity.

So that's a reason to start a duplicate?

Just because it's had no action in awhile, that doesn't mean it needs a duplicate. If that was so, i would have been cloned years ago.

I remember reading about Keanu meeting with the Wachowski's a few years ago when the Wachowski's wanted to make a new "groundbreaking" movie like The Matrix was and Keanu suggested doing another Matrix. Supposedly they had started talking about it but I hadn't heard anything recently. You almost wonder how WB would go about doing another Matrix. Would they do Matrix 4 or reboot the whole franchise with no Wachowski or Keanu involvement? I'd be curious to see how WB would handle it.

I think there is great potential for a prequel to the Matrix.

It's one of the few properties that could spawn a few interesting spin-offs / side-quels / prequels IF handled by individuals with a genuine passion for the world and characters created by the Wachowskis.
