I just received this e-mail from Amazon.

Subject line: "Here's a $7 Amazon Video credit just for you"

Amazon always makes you log in to redeem credits.

Yes but they usually don't say right in the email click here then log into your account. That is the most common tactic of phishing emails.

Edit: Snagged American Tail, its $7.99, so with credit it comes to a measly $1. It's MA as well, so it's in my Vudu too now.

I did not get an email but someone sent me the link for the promo on amazon's website and my account was eligible and i was able to redeem it.

i know the link looks a bit fishy but it's amazons website. i'm sure someone good at the internet can verify it.

Amazon has gotten from bad to worse. I got a Lightning Deal Blu-ray (Lifeboat) and a book (Crazy Like A Fox: The Definitive Chronicle of Brian Pillman 20 Years Later by Liam O'Rourke) in a massively oversized bubble envelope - even bigger than the standard size - with punctures and holes all over the envelope. Thankfully, the contents are mostly fine. There's a slight surface crack in the Blu-ray case, but the crack still feels smooth, so it doesn't affect anything. The Blu-ray disc was also slightly dislodged but thankfully not enough to be an actual floater. The book is probably slightly less than mint but still 99% minty. That's about the best you can hope for ordering books from Amazon anyway. I used the $5 off code, so it was still worth it.

Why am I complaining about this here?

I would have loved to have gotten Lifeboat with a $5 off credit, but I had already used up the three I had. It shall be mine eventually. I have a digital copy to hold me over until then. What a great movie. OK, why am I posting this here? LOL

The rest of you who get one of these $7 credits, brag away.
