Just finished watching this and it is EXCELLENT!!!! Absolutely gutted HBO cancelled it, Clancy Brown in my opinion is quite an underrated actor. I noticed one of the songs for the show by Jeff Beal titled Carnivale Convoy sounds quite similar to Bruce Langhorne opening theme to The Hired Hand, a homage perhaps?
