Default Add Ons

Have you ever noticed how add ons barely ever work. I mean look at the Sega Master System 32X and Mega CD.

Now I'm talking about this because look at the 360. HD DVD add ons that nobody buys and they make you buy a wireless adaptor and rechargeable for you controller for extra money. And this makes people not won't to buy the product because, well I don't know about you but me and everyone I know think something is more qaulity and worth the money if its all as standard.

I saw on G4TV the other day that Microsoft is going to release ANOTHER version of the 360. Called the 360 Elite, or something like that. It will finally have a built in HD DVD, 1080p output and some other crap. Doesn't matter anyway. Microsoft is going down, slowly but surely.

They already have an Elite version it came with a bigger hard drive and HDMI output. If they do release a new X360 It will have to be called XBox 360 Elite: Service Pack 2 Edition. That or maybe XBox 360 Ultimate Edition 2008.

Never been tempted to buy any XBox and never will. I've been in the Computer business too long to bother buying a Microsoft designed and built game system. Thank goodness I work on Linux systems all day!

Well this WAS the plan until Warner Bros. killed HD DVD with it's news on Friday about going Blu exclusive.

Read around on the General Discussion thread. Gates didn't talk about HD DVD or any kind of x360 with a built-in drive at his CES speech. I feel confident in saying whatever plans they had to do this effectively just got cancelled.

the XBox 360 will probably come with a Blu-ray drive very soon.

The add-on for HD-dvd was only for movies only and completely a choice for users. Not having it built in let the system be more affordable. As far as the battery packs go you gotta be kidding me right? No one is making you buy it. It comes with a wired controller or if it is the wireless you can use batteries (AA). The battery pack is like buying rechargable batteries and will save you money.

I like having that choice because I like to play games even when a system is old. I was playing Dreamcast the other day. If it had an internal rechargable battery like PS3 then I'd maybe be able to use it for a few years more and then have to look online to buy a new one when it no longer takes a charge anymore as opposed to a wireless like 360 where I can get another battery pack or just use AA betteries.

Hate MS if you want but knocking on something they did right just because you hate them is lame and fanboyish.
