I was thinking the same thing. Some of the box art is theatrical posters on a good portion of these re-issues which is nice to see. But if it's just a slip then at least for me it will be a pass.

So no Silence of the Lambs from either Criterion or Arrow then?

These remind me of those dodgy Miramax designs, so I think I'll pass on any of these (though will be getting the regular edition of The Revenant at some point, and wish they'd do something about restoring Butch & Sundance).

Huh? No these are literally just slipcovers by the looks of things, and this probably wouldn't affect licensing to either label anyway. Looking more likely we'll get an Arrow release rather than a Criterion one too.

On first look, these ones appeared as digipack but those ugly border (doubt those rating logos will be on sticker) design makes the artwork look dull.

Why such boring artwork? You'd have thought they'd have took the opportunity to create something more attractive and eye catching rather than just slap a white border around the original, usually drab bordering on crap, artwork and no doubt add some metallic text.

Utter waste of time and cardboard. If I inadvertantly bought one of these the o-ring would go straight in the recycling. Unless of course they've used the revised design for the insert as well.

I'd imagine these slips are designed so the distributors can put a load of their stock in one place, either a standee or end-cap. They'll probably be in HMV's 5 for £30. They're much more promotional items than collector's.

Fox are soon to be property of Walt Disney, so I guess it's a last minute quick buck.
