Its all good, we should all drop all this "HD DVD fans suck" and realise they just made amistake. I went HD DVD 1st due to pricing and sold all of mine along with my xbox360 a while ago. Oh well we make mistakes, lets move on.

I wonder how many of them even had ANY movies to begin with. Seems like there were an awful lot on people championing HD DVD that had neither.

I'm not sure that they were. Has Lee Stewart ever actually commented on a movie?

indeed. the entire ZOMG! DIGITAL DOWNLOADS ARE THE FUTURE AND THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD! tack a lot of the rabid red ants are now adopting is truly laughable.

what happened to being able to make six bajillion backup copies? (cuz sure as crap smells bad, any DD future endorsed by hollywood is going to be DRM-ed far worse than BD+ could ever get)

what happened to those AWESOME pip commentaries and the ability to shop online while watching your movie? (cuz sure as crap smells bad, that ain't gonna happen with DD)

i feel no qualms about rubbing their faces in their own hypocrisy and stupidity when they start pulling this line.

Why were they even in this game? I can think of a few reasons...

There are some who actually do care about the content and are switching. But these people were not really rabid fans in the first place.
I've been pleasantly suprised at the number of HD-DVD owners who have thrown in the towel and gone Blu.

Of course the hardcore, shouty bunch, who stirred up the format war for so long, are showing their true colours with this, 'I'm going to downloads' crap.

I think WALMART knew something in advance when they started dumping the A2's for $98.00.

Deadmeat (!), on highdefdigest recently admitted to not watching movies that much.

It's the anti-Sony 13-year-old console-gaming crowd that really drove the various forums into the ground. They had little interest in movies. It was just another console fight for them.

That was a planned Toshiba sale, not a clearance
