I read on slickdeals that the player isn't wifi, if your router isn't close to your modem or that doesn't matter I guess it's fine for the price.

the router is directly on the floor above where it will be, so we'll see, i guess.
i bought it as a gift for my parents, who aren't the most tech-savvy but i think they'll be happy with it

I got one for myself. My regular bluray player just stopped working so I got this new 4K one. I will get a 4k tv soon. I don't ever use my player for anything other than watching discs so I don't care about no wifi.

came in the mail today but did not come with an HDMI cord, so i'm going to pick up one while i'm running errands today

Grabbed this deal, sold the player on eBay for $100 - take off eBay Fees, the steelbook ended up costing me $10 or so.
