Default Jurassic Park collection new masters?

Hi all
Im from Ireland and on the irish store I can see 2 versions of each movie one version being my own copy of each with the old file sizes all of which are hd, then theres another version with the new crappy artwork but the file sizes are now larger but I cant view them as its showing me prices on these versions.
they are listed as hd also not 4k but I wonder are these from new masters that will eventually add 4k to them in may?

I noticed the doubles myself last night but not the file size. Also, aren't both versions of each film showing the same artwork? Are seeing different? (Which I agree agree - the new art is bad. The original logo and it's variations are all that is need on wach of the movies)

I have seen doubles many times over the last few years. I contacted Apple about it once and the agent assumed it must be an error.

When I look on the store the posters are all the same new ones doubled up but when I go to my library its the old artwork. Thw file sizes are different for all the first 3 while jurassic world remains the same.

Okay I understand now. I hadn't thought to look in the library because I just assumed the art had to match.

I did have a look at Jurassic Park on the Store and it is even stranger than you described - one of the copies has a larger HD file size but a lower SD file size.

Or at least I think that is what I saw in the wee hours.

Does the iTunes Store in other countries also have doubles?

Currently in the US store there’s only one listing per movie, with the new covers.

btw, am I the only one who thinks the cover for 2 & 3 are fine? 1 is still absolutely terrible though.

Yeah 1 is the worst indeed, can you check the 1080p fike size for jp1, my version is 5.57gb but the new artwork version is 5.75gb.

Thanks for checking.
Same as the one I own but the new artwork version here is 5.75gb and the lost world has been bumped up to 5.93gb but I cant access those files, I would need to buy again to see if they are new masters.

I wouldn't worry about it. This small difference in size does not necessarily mean the image quality is improved. Did you compare if one version has more foreign language audio tracks than the other? It could also be slight differences in the encoding parameters. It's pretty common for iTunes movies to get new encodings from time to time, even if no new master is available.

Also, as discussed in another thread, at least here in the US Apple has started making quality improvements that only benefit streaming, not the downloads. Besides supporting things like 7.1 surround, they also seem to be upping the bitrates for the streams significantly, while the downloads stay at around 5-6 Mbps. So the file sizes in iTunes aren't necessarily indicative of the streaming quality.

I was thinking exactly that but what has me confused is why update the fike now then have to update it again in may when the 4k versions are available? Audio subs ect are same. On a side note a download and a stream are exactly the same (here in ireland anyway) I used a data counter and streamed and downloaded movies from apple and I used almost equal amounts of data give or take 5mb.

I just checked the first Jurassic Park in the Irish store. According to the store page, the 5.75GB version has a French audio track (and a boatload of subtitles) that the other version doesn't have.
