"SNL" creator Lorne Michaels also executive produces "Documentary Now!", and guest stars include Jack Black and John Slattery.

Both this and "Happy Endings" are much cheaper at Fry's, if you have one, versus Amazon ($14.99 for this, $19.99 for "HE").

Whoa. Looked at my receipt just now and even though it was stickered as $14.99, it actually rang up as $11.99.

So, you know, if you don't have Netflix...

Can anyone verify if the 'digital copy' included with the blu is via the Mill Creek's online site? It would be great if it were MA or Vudu or iTunes. But I'm assuming it's just on their site.

Thanks in advance!

I like Portlandia and I can get through the slow parts of that series without getting bored, but this one is a tough slog for me. Maybe it's because I'm not terribly familiar with all the films they are parodying. Maybe it's an insider thing.

The fact that they’re able to emulate old film stock with such authenticity is the only reason I watch the series. More filmmakers need to utilize this method, instead of making glossy, clean, digital-looking movies. I emailed the company that does the artificial grain simulation (LiveGrain) and asked them, out of curiosity, if they could emulate 1950s Technicolor film stock like the Seven Year Itch and Bigger Than Life and Vertigo, and they said yes. Why the hell aren’t filmmakers taking advantage of that? That’s insane

Looks like a complete series set is coming in May from Mill Creek. So far there doesn't appear to be any Season 3 and 4 release(s) for those that previously got this S1 and 2 set.

Awesome, I loved the first few seasons of Documentary Now but never finished it. I'll aim to pick up the complete set.

I still need to finish season 4. I only watched episodes 1 and 2 (2 part episode) since they stopped recording off IFC for some reason, but that episode was probably my favorite one yet. I know it's on Netflix now, but I don't have that at the moment. Hopefully the price comes down, because I'd love to own it. Sucks we're being forced to buy the first 2 seasons again though.

The Complete Series is set to release on 11/12, per The Digital Bits (I know, I know...but it's been confirmed by Broadway Home Entertainment).
