Default N64 Classic? - Nintendo Files Trademark

Nintendo has recently applied for a trademark for the iconic Nintendo 64 which was originally released in 1996. The purposes for the trademark cover a number of things including a video game program, controller for game machine, joystick for video game machine, TV game machine and more. This suggests that Nintendo could be hard at work producing the N64 Mini following the success of the NES Mini and SNES Mini.

N64 Classic announcement incoming? I could see this being an E3 announcement for the holiday season.

That'd be rad. I still have all my original systems but a nice quality N64 would be cool to have. I hope it has Goldeneye on it.

Too many licensing issues that extend well beyond MS and Rare. They shocked me with Starfox 2 on the SNES mini and I have to assume they'll have another nobody thought they'd do it game for this release to drive sales but Goldeneye really is the most difficult one they could pull off.

Yeah, but Goldeneye is the only game that matters on the N-64....well, that and Perfect Dark.

If anything I could see them putting Sin and Punishment in before Goldeneye.

Don’t worry if this comes out someone will hack it and be able to add Goldeneye.

Just get me a Gamecube Classic with Mario Strikers (the soccer game) on it and I'm happy.

When I worked at GameStop while in college my Store Manager and I would play the crap out of that whenever our store was empty.

Nintendo doesn't seem to announce these mini consoles at E3. Neither the NES or SNES Minis were announced at E3, and between Smash and Pokemon, they probably don't need any more big announcements. Waiting on the N64 mini announcement isn't gonna lead to less hype, and it lets the announcement stand alone without getting buried in all the other news that E3 brings.

I would get it if it included Doom 64. I wasn't gaming on consoles during the N64 run. But I love everything Doom.

If they put LoZ: Ocarina of Time and LoZ: Majora's Mask on it, than I'll definitely buy it. I played those two games all the time on my N64 back in the day. I just wished Sony would release a ps1 and ps2 classic.

The only problem with OoT is that it will be the censored version. I have the gold cart on N64 and it contained the full uncensored game. Ganon spits out red blood instead of green "whatever" and the Fire Temple has the chanting. Also the mirror shield maintains its original symbols. All this changed in a revision on the grey cart, as well as the GameCube and 3DS ports, and Virtual Console on Wii U.

the best N64 games (beside the Zeldas) are licensed games (WWF/WCW/007)

that's what emulators are for

Super Mario 64 still holds up incredibly well all these years later.

Yeah, I noticed that change with the blood when I got the digital version on the store on the Wii. That's honestly the only change that bothered me tbh. Even still, the stuff they've changed doesn't really bother me anyways. It is what it is.

I bought a NES Classic about a hour ago.

Give me 007, Mario Kart and 1080 and I'll pay whatever Nintendo wants.

I never had a 64 and despite the lack of Final Fantasy games, I'd still like one modded for the right price.
