Terror invades an upper-class New York community as 17-year old Christie Cromwell cleverly uncovers her stepfather's horrifying plot to murder her wealthy mother. She's on to him, yet no one will believe her because she's just a kid: smart, imaginative, maybe she's just taken a crazy idea to the limit. Suspense builds when a series of shocking events confirms her worst fears. Alone, afraid and helpless, terrified Christie and her mother are held prisoner in their own home at the mercy of ruthless killers.

Saw this 2 years ago at 24 Hour Horrorthon and it destroyed!

Amazing, crazy flick. Totally entertaining trash. I'm so pumped that Scream nabbed this title.

The plot sounds interesting on Wikipedia but under reception it says “The Monthly Film Bulletin criticized Scream for Help for what it described as the film's "moronic characterization, daft dialogue, inept performances and opportunistic camerawork".[2]

Screenwriter Tom Holland was extremely displeased with Michael Winner's handling of his script.”

Is this worth a blind buy if I enjoy slashers?

No, not really. It's not a slasher, but I wouldn't want to dissuade you from checking it out.

Best way I can describe it? It's like a perverted take on a Nancy Drew mystery, seemingly geared towards kids but with salacious adult themes and situations. The whole film is narrated in voiceover by the lead actress, a precocious teenage girl. It's sleazy and totally inappropriate. I absolutely love it.

It's not a slasher. I'd watch the trailer. It's a perfect representation of the movie, so if that doesn't hook you (and I don't see how it couldn't), don't bother.

Never seen it, but seeing as how its an 80s Michael Winner flick, it's probably amazing.

It might be the least boring movie ever made. There's never a dull moment.

Right from the opening lines...

"My name is Christina Ruth Cromwell. I'm 17, and I live in New Rochelle. I think my stepfather is trying to murder my mother!"

...it starts moving and the crazy never stops.

People who haven't seen it should just go into this totally blind. No trailer, nothing. Don't even read this thread. Just buy the blu-ray when it comes out and watch it. Jaws will drop.

Saw this on TV back in 86 when i was 4 and thought it was quite enjoyable and now i can throw my bootleg DVD into the trash and get this.

Hope it's uncut.

I'm going to try and do just that. I know nothing of the film other than what's been posted in this and the Scream Factory thread but the response has been very encouraging so I'll try to convince myself to pick this up on release and give it a go. I blind buy A LOT but usually at least watch a trailer... not doing that leave me feeling a bit nervous but I'll do my best to avoid further info.

Scream for Help was one of my utmost favorites as a kid growing up...whether it was seeing it on late-night cable, or renting it on VHS numerous times. So this news is literally AWESOME!!!

Easily my most wanted release, after RAD. Neither film has ever had an "official" DVD or Blu-ray release anywhere, so this is one more gem I can finally mark off the list!

I can't wait to hear what kind of extras it'll get...

I watched a VHS rip of this on YouTube just a couple of months ago. Terrible movie, but it's tremendously entertaining. I'll definitely be getting this one.

That seems to be Michael Winner's thing.

That said, this looks interesting enough to pick up.
