True; a bit cunning of HMV swooping in there... maybe Zoom were unwilling to do all formats due to price(?) or unwilling to do another 4K exclusive as they still seem to have a lot left of the other 4 they got exclusives for and may have lost profit based on the number of damaged ones that have been reported here (and realise they have to up their steelbook postal protection especially for steelbook exclusives).

Just received an email from Amazon confirming the release date of 5th November.
What on Earth is taking so long?? That's a whopping five months after the cinema release and almost two months later than the US release! |

I've heard (dunno if it's true mind) that UK cinemas insist that the gap between theatrical and home video releases is five months minimum.

One of the benefits of Blockbuster going down the shitter, is that we don't get those windows between cinema, rental and retail in the UK any more.

now days when I buy a Blu-ray, chances are I still have the cinema ticket in my wallet for the same film with the release window is that close together. |

The longer time frames between cinema and home video of yesteryear actually gave a movie more legs and time to breath.
While I don't think it's a bad thing now, it certainly feels like movies are throwaway entertainment that get forgotten about after a few months. |

As expected, Sainsbury's will offer exclusive 2-disc editions for both Blu-ray and DVD.
![]() Keep in mind the bonus disc is most likely a DVD (same as the US Target edition), and the extra featurettes could well be uploaded to the official Jurassic World YouTube channel in HD, just as the previous movie's bonus extras were later (and a whole lot more). |

Reading reviews of the American release two months ago, as well as waving at other releases around the world as they sail past has really dampened my enthusiasm for it. I'll be picking it up second-hand after Christmas.
