Default The Dead Don’t Die (Jim Jarmusch Zombie Movie)

Quote:
Independent stalwart Jim Jarmusch is making a zombie movie with Bill Murray.

“The Dead Don’t Die,” which also stars Selena Gomez, Adam Driver, and Chloe Sevigny, is already filming in Upstate New York.

Murray was seen in on-set photos obtained by the Daily Mail. Murray plays a police officer alongside colleagues portrayed by Driver and Sevigny. Images from Just Jared also show Gomez and a bloody Austin Butler.

Although Jarmsuch has not officially announced the project, Murray mentioned the pic in March in an interview with Philly.com.

“I’ve got a good job coming up. Brace yourself: It’s a zombie movie,” Murray said at the time. “Jim Jarmusch has written a zombie script that’s so hilarious and it has a cast of great actors … it shoots over the summer. But no, I will not play a zombie.”

Jarmusch and Murray previously worked together on 2003’s “Coffee and Cigarettes” and 2005’s “Broken Flowers.” Driver starred in Jarmusch’s most recent film, “Paterson.”

Jarmusch previously portrayed the world of the undead in 2013’s “Only Lovers Left Alive,” toplined by Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Anton Yelchin, Jeffrey Wright, Slimane Dazi, and John Hurt. The movie was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Jarmusch’s other credits include “Stranger Than Paradise,” “Down by Law,” “Mystery Train,” “Dead Man,” and “Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai.”

Quite a cast, apparently:

Quote:
Multiple reports cite it as a zombie flick, and it reportedly stars Jarmusch alums Adam Driver and Bill Murray, as well as Selena Gomez, Chloë Sevigny, and Austin Butler, all of whom have all been spotted on set in Fleischmanns, New York. Earlier this year, Murray said it was called The Dead Don’t Die, but, as The Film Stage notes, it’s shooting under the title Kill The Head. Murray also teased that Daniel Craig and Rosie Perez were in the movie, and that he would not be playing a zombie (sorry, Zombieland fans).

So I take it this is not a remake of Curtis Harrington's 1975 TV movie with George Hamilton?

Just joshin'; if Jarmusch does for zombies what he did for vampires in the terrific Only Lovers Left Alive, this will be a cause for celebration.

I'm in...I'm all in!!

Jim Jarmusch films move at a snails pace so them must be some really really slow walking zombies.

Every Jarmusch film is a great time at the cinema.

Man, this looks like big fun; a zombie film filtered through the (living)deadpan humor of Jim Jarmusch...and bonus points for letting Swinton speak with her natural Scottish accent.

Any particular reason why Murray, Sevigny and Driver are all wearing glasses?

She doesn't have a natural Scottish accent. She's putting that on for the part. She was born in London to a prosperous family and speaks accordingly.

Her dad, Major-General Sir John Swinton, was Scottish, but posh Scots usually sound English. Her mum was an Aussie.

My illusions have been shattered once again; will have to seek solace watching Swinton as she Kill Bill's her way through this film with a samurai sword...and a bogus Scottish accent.

Looks amazing. And if Jarmusch’s name wasn’t attached to it I never would’ve thought this was made by him.

I haven't liked any of the Jim Jarmusch movies I have seen.

This one, from the trailer at least, looks entertaining and has a great cast, so I ill probably check it out, even though I am almost certain I will be disappointed.

The humor didn't really do anything for me, but I've been craving some traditional zombies and the cast looks great. I'll keep my eyes out for opinions.

Looks fine, but kinda disappointed that Daniel Craig apparently didn't end up in it.

Looks like a laugh, though pretty conventional and low-rent for Jarmusch, like he does know these types of Zombie films are pretty much normal now?
