No 3D, no problem. If I had someone drop five grand in my lap tomorrow I'd be in for one of these, some of you guys are no doubt planning to grab one (as well as certain other forumites I can think of on both AVF and AVS who change their TV as nonchalantly as changing a mobile phone) but I can't make the finances work. The king is dead...long live the king!

At least those who aren't loaded can hope for some of the Z9F's tech to trickle down to less expensive models over time, similarly to how the X1E was put into the XE93 & XF90. It does seem like Sony is trying to price the Z9F a bit more competitively though, which is good.

Vincent mentioned it earlier. Great news for those that want the absolute reference picture! Any word on Sony using Quantum Dots on the Z9F? |

At this point, owning two different Sony OLEDs, I am more concerned with nits, nits, nits. When Sony can get more out of the panels with less ABL, you will have my attention.

Right? Though Vincent has made his admiration for the ZD9 clear on previous occasions, as well has saying on-camera that the 8K 10,000-nit prototype that Sony showed in January was some of the best HDR he'd ever seen and that an OLED couldn't compare. Alas, when it comes to all these "shoot out" thingies they're often weighted so far towards what the cognoscenti deem to be superior that the ZF9 will still lose, and lose heavily, when it's stacked up against an LG OLED in whatever future event it's entered in to.

My only real complaint with the 940E was view angle, other than that it was a GREAT display. The Z9F video about view angle is quite intriguing.

Z9F legs are hideous. And probably inconvenient for alot of people as well.
