But with this they aren’t having to go back and re-do a bunch of effects.

Never heard of the Trek Tax, eh?

It'll probably wind up around $50 on release week, like Twin Peaks and the rest of the Trek blu series.

Still a heck of a lot better than the $120+/season we were paying here in Canada back in the early DVD days. And Trek was even more expensive on VHS.

Personally, I'll gladly pay $50 for a season's worth of episodes at, more or less, reference quality. I paid a little more than that for the individual releases of TNG, and never regretted the purchase (granted I might've been a little more annoyed if I'd also bought them on DVD and/or VHS, but fortunately I wasn't old enough to have that kind of money back then, lol).

Ha, I remember buying TOS from Columbia House in, I think, the 80's. $21.00 for 2 episodes on VHS. Got a new tape every month. Almost $800.00 !!!
I was happy because they looked great and no commercials. Nice sturdy cardboard boxes. Still have them, though have triple dipped the series at this point.

Season 1 had 15 episodes so my guess would be a five or six disc set 3 episodes per disc with some special features per episode and disc 6 all bonus material.....

But it's a CBS All Access exclusive, so it makes me wonder if they'll price it reasonably or keep it higher to still get more from it.

I was wondering if this would happen since it was from their streaming, nice that they didn't just toss it up and never let people have best quality like SOME companies do.

If it's between $30-40, I'll get it ASAP.

I was going to say it depends on the studio, but I don't know if they have any outside studio producing it or if it's like Stranger Things and is made by Netflix.

Forget it: Star Trek always will be expensive. Like Disney Animation Titles, or other Big Fanbase Titles.
Im Fine with'em what the bluray will cost - better than having it available only via Streaming (which basicly I don't own at the end).

I thought this series was mostly awful with the exception of Captain Lucius Malfoy. Glad it's getting a BD release for the fans, though.

Looks like they're going to stick with the episodic format for season 2. I hope the new Picard series has some standalone episodes.

I would have preferred 4K, but oh well. I have everything else trek (except 1+5 movie wise, I refuse to ever own those...) so I'll get this eventually, the 2nd half wasn't bad. Special Feature wise I hope it's as good as the other treks are.

Come on, TMP isn't so bad if you watch the director's DVD... Be a good little carbon unit...
