Casey lives with her mother, a recovering addict, in a little-known Midwestern town haunted by the promise of modernism. Jin, a visitor from the other side of the world, attends to his estranged, dying father. Burdened by the future, they find respite in one another and the architecture that surrounds them.

Filmed on location in Columbus, Indiana, this tender meditation on love, loss and architecture is the directorial feature debut for writer/director Kogonada. Featuring critically-acclaimed performances from John Cho and Haley Lu Richardson as Jin and Casey, Columbus also features a strong supporting cast which includes Parker Posey, Rory Culkin and Michelle Forbes.

Happy this is getting a blu ray release, as I was quite pee'd off when I seen a DVD only release.

On official facebook page is said:

The UK and Irish Blu-ray and DVD release is Region B and 2. Unfortunately, Amazon is displaying the incorrect information and we are working to amend it asap. Sorry for the confusion.

Strange that also Network says region free. Someone will have to confirm after release.

But US release should be coming soon:

Just received my copy and though the packaging states Region ABC, I can confirm that the disc is Region B only.

Audio is great, Video is strong as well, but I wish the disc was dual-layered for a higher bitrate. A great buy at a great price, but its too bad the disc wasn't region-free (especially since the ABC is everywhere on the packaging).

Thanks very much! I wonder if Criterion will release it in the US, given their past relationship with Kogonada, but if not, this seems like a reasonable alternative.
