This should look incredible, hopefully can fit entirely on one disc but that’s not a deal-breaker.

Indeedy, it's got as good a chance as Lawrence of fitting onto one disc (i.e. it's not entirely composed of hectic, fast-moving content that's swimming in grain) and as it's got those ginormous 2.76 letterbox borders then that also cuts down on the amount of image that has to be compressed, if that makes sense. As with the Lean film, I would prefer a two-disc split but a properly optimised 100GB encode with only a few extra language tracks would just about work.

I’m tempering my expectations due to WB’s penchant for subtle grain filtering, but this movie is a visual powerhouse, and an absolute must buy for me. We need more classics like this on the format!

This isn’t even that grainy a movie, they shouldn’t feel the need to manage anything. Operative word being “shouldn’t.”

Hopefully they'll be able to fit the whole film on one disc this time around (without sacrificing quality of course).

Not to worry, it lists WB so it's the Heston version (not the newer one from Paramount). I think it's one of the best looking classic Blus, so could easily transition into an impressive UHD.
