Default Funimation Digital Copy

I've purchased two different Blu-Ray TV boxed sets, Star Blazers 2199 and Concrete Revolutio and in both instances, I've had issues with both redeeming and trying to watch this content on Funimation.com and Funimation Now.

Has anyone else had any issues with this?

i had this issues with tokyo ghoul season 1 part 2 and also fairy tale. I kept getting "code is not active yet" or something like that I called up funimation and asked what the issues was. I got a few emails and sent them photos of my recipet from the package and the slip. Took a few days but it eventually worked.

I was trying to redeem the UV code for The Boy and The Beast through this site just the other day and found that when I selected vudu and clicked redeem, it wouldn't complete the redemption...it would just sit there on that page spinning. Have they stopped redeeming movie codes for UV?

Also, anyone know if this code redeems both the original language and English versions (like with the live action attack on titan films) or is it just the English version only?

Boy and the Beast, along with most of the prior UV Funimation codes redeemed both language versions - in this case two items are added to Vudu (rather than one bundle). Funimation was one of the first vendors to drop UV support so it's possible they are letting older UV codes expire (not sure).

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling that is the case. I'll just redeem it directly in vudu for both versions later and hope for the best.

I don't know that you'd give both version redeeming directly through Vudu since there's no bundle option. Good luck.

Here was the behavior just as of last week - redeeming directly on VUDU only gives you the English dub version.

To get both versions on VUDU, you had to redeem the code through Funimation's portal. That is how it's always worked before. With UV about to die, I redeemed several older Funimation UV codes.

I just redeemed Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence on Vudu last week, and they gave me both versions, subbed + dubbed.

Default Success!

Success! I managed to redeem the code on the funimationdigitalcopy website using my phone instead of my laptop and got both versions. The website redeem was just not working for the laptop so I thought I'd give it a try with the smartphone....good thing I did. All good here. Thanks for everyone's input.

I've only purchased a couple Funmation titles (movies) and redeemed for UV; however I bought my first TV series code today and the UV redeem option doesn't seem to work.

Do the TV shows ONLY redeem through the Funimation website?

I cannot be sure of the specifics because I've not bought Funimation titles recently. However from what I can tell all Funimation titles previously allowed for UV or Funimation redemption through the Funimation redemption portal. However, Funimation seemed to be one of the first studios to abandon UV and more modern releases have been issued in a format not compatible with UV/Vudu redemption and allowing only for a copy through the Funimation service. Black Clover Season 1, Part 1 seemed to be one of the first titles to now allow for UV/Vudu redemption (around August 2018). It's a bummer because Funimation has a prolific library and seems to readily include digital copies but I'm not fond building another library on another portal.

I think that the packaging for titles that redeem in UV/Vudu advertises UV (see, for example, Fairy Tail Dragon Cry) and newer Funimation only redeems advertise only Funimation (see Tokyo Ghoul).

Funimation has some newer releases I'd love to get on digital but their code availability seems dead. Also, it was a nice bonus that Funimation codes (when UV) gave both language versions (where buying them outright requires selecting dub or sub, not both).

This will pretty much kill me buying any Funimation codes going forward. They really need to change their redemption portal if they are not offering both as it is very misleading.

Unfortunately and now that UV is soon to be dead, all of the movie codes will be Funimation only.

I'm with you though, I would buy so many more TV blu rays from them if the digital copies redeemed elsewhere(like Vudu or iTunes).

It seems like some of the Funimation titles give Instawatch when purchased at Walmart.

I'm pretty happy that Dragon Ball Super: Broly is HD Instawatch. Also, it's the dual language bundle! Pretty awesome, considering the digital copy inside the case is only for Funimations streaming service.

I'm bummed. I just got a copy of Boy and the Beast today. Redeemed the digital copy and it didn't work. I reached customer support and they told me that it'll have to be added on the Funimation library. LAME! Anyone know a way to work around this?
