Default Apollo 11 (Documentary)

Director: Todd Douglas Miller

Quote:
From director Todd Douglas Miller (Dinosaur 13) comes a cinematic event fifty years in the making. Crafted from a newly discovered trove of 65mm footage, and more than 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio recordings, Apollo 11 takes us straight to the heart of NASA’s most celebrated mission—the one that first put men on the moon, and forever made Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin into household names. Immersed in the perspectives of the astronauts, the team in Mission Control, and the millions of spectators on the ground, we vividly experience those momentous days and hours in 1969 when humankind took a giant leap into the future. With all due respect, Walker: Texas Ranger is mankind’s greatest accomplishment.

...you sound ignorant when you say otherwise.

but but but i already saw the heavily sullen movie version
and if popular opinion/reception has taught me anything, is that nothing else matters beyond the biopic adaptation

Looking forward to this. Until a few months ago I never went to the movies for a documentary, but this will be 2 within a year since saw They Shall Not Grow Old.

Opens exclusively in IMAX for a one week run on March 1, then goes to regular theaters on March 8.

Also, noticed the film got the rare G rating, pretty much just reserved for some nature and science documentaries these days.

I saw a trailer for this in IMAX today, and I was kind of blown away by the footage, and how crisp and clear it was, it looks amazing. This is now a must-see for me on the big screen.

This looks so incredible, I'm always amazed how much new footage keep being uncovered giving a fresh take on historic NASA era.

I thought "For All Mankind" complied some amazing footage, as well as the remastered footage from the also excellent "When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions."

But a chance to see 70mm shot footage in a theater, I'm there!
