iTunes Outage - 02/21/2019 - Blu-ray Forum

Check your iTunes movie count, there are several missing movies.

Yep, first was alerted to the Disney/Marvel 3 going missing... again.

But... got a little alarmed when I checked my spreadsheet, noticed total number didn't match. Instead of 3, had almost 30 gone. Oddly, none of the duplicates of Inception, Gran Torino, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and a few others disappeared (which they usually do much like those infamous Marvel three periodically disappear/reappear from iTunes). Nope, these were completely all random.

My MA/VUDU/etc libraries are all unaffected, which once again leads me to believe this is an iTunes problem/at fault. Really debating contacting them. Been down that route last year, got absolutely no where with it. iTunes told me there was nothing they could do or willing to do (they did give me a free rental... LOL, big whoop) but eventually the missing titles came back. But again, these titles that disappeared, this is a first. And they're all from random studios. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms disappearing, is kind of concerning why such a newer title is part of this disappearance.

Nutcracker & The Four Realms is one of my missing movies. It's not even on the iTunes store anymore.

The Girl In The Spider's Web is in my iTunes Purchased section but not the iTunes library.

Definitely an iTunes issue.

There are some serious video issues with the 4k version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Video freezes after a couple of seconds while the audio keeps playing.

Some Movies that I own in 4k like Equalizer 2 were replaced with the HD version, Those movies are probably getting upgrades like HDR or Atmos.

I still have the Nutcracker by the way

I’ve lost 17 movies.

Force Awakens is one - other Disney movies all seem okay.

Has anyone contacted Apple?

I’m on with iTunes support at the moment and this particular agent is unaware of the problem

What iTunes Store are you both using? US?

It is weird that one of you can play the movie

I had a couple missing and while I was validating which ones they were, 3 more went missing. Two I noticed were Denial and Silver Linings Playbook.

The 3 more that were removed were Collide, Hope Springs and Florence Foster Jenkins.

I’ve had two go missing since posting earlier.

I don’t know which but Anthropoid, Journey’s End and The Force Awakens are the only ones I’ve know of so far.

The last support agent was difficult and wouldn’t transfer me to a senior advisor. Kept harping on that Apple doesn’t own the movies despite me giving detailed information like customers are not all losing the same movies.

I’m out of time now so if anyone else had information from Apple support please let us

Apple TV 4K shows I'm missing 7 movies but iTunes for Windows shows I'm missing 43 movies.

I’ve made several attempts and finally managed to find an agent who says they are working on the problem but her senior insisted I speak to a senior advisor who just went into that same old yarn “apple doesn’t own the movies, providers can pull them if they want”.

I expected some kind of talk about it when googling “iTunes” but there is nothing.

Other than the three Paramount Marvel Digital copies, I am missing two (Boondock Saints II and The Take (Elba)). They are both still in MA, but The Take was an iTunes redeemed, and that isn't in my purchase history to download it. It's in my purchase history on my account page, though. Also, I can't find that title in the store.

I do have others that won't show up in m library on my phone and Apple TV, but searching for the titles in the store shows I still own them, so I didn't count the ones that I noticed.

Those two missing titles are back in my library and shows as own when searching for them in the store.

My count has gone up to 326 on my MacBook and AppleTV

I was sure I had 328. I recently started using the collection option on the blu-ray.com app so I can see quickly if anything is missing.

EDIT: I'm missing Maze Runner The Scorch trials from my MacBook library. It is is still in the Purchased section of my iTunes and when I look at it in the store it is only available for download, not to stream.

I don't understand that - if it is available to download in the store then it should be visible in my library.

EDIT: Maze Runner 2 is visible again my library.

Movie count on my iTunes for Windows is fixed now after I redeemed a movie. It could be just a coincidence. I'll check the Apple TV 4K movie count later tonight.

So how many titles did you lose? Since that’s the topic and not a debate of physical versus digital.

I’ve checked several times on my phone and my library is intact. For now.
