Question Retailers Reaction...?

Has there been any news or updates as to how retailers such as best buy, target, walmart etc. have reacted to the news of Warner joining blu? You would think that retailers would start to diminish shelf space and what HD DVD supply they have on hand, if not go blu exclusive all together. I know there have been opinions of what people think the retailers would do, but has there been anything official?

Nothing official yet but I was talking to a girl in our media department at BB while picking up my check today and she was like.. dang, I can't wait to get rid of these red cases. She's a huge blu fan too. I took a gander at the 2 sections today and it was ugly how over-stocked the HD rack was and how obvious it was the Blu section was picked over and sold out of all the good movies. I got Troy for 14.99 though, that was fun.

I plan on talking to the media super tomorrow and see what his plans are reguarding the 2 formats. We sell out of some titles so quickly on Blu that it would be more than worth it if they would double up on most of the movies.

i would imagine that recent events such as Warner's announcement would be favorable for retailers mainly because they do not have to stock two different HD formats in their finite shelf spaces.

Keep in mind that these retailers just came through the Christmas season and a number of their customers recently bought a shiny new HD DVD player. If they made HD DVD completely disappear tomorrow, they'd piss off all those customers, which is not good for business. It's probably better for them to let it slowly fade away.
