While I'm sad The Trigger Effect is on a double feature disc, its still one of the last dvds that I own.
Its not a perfect movie, there are definitely leaps of logic by the characters, but its still a unique story that may actually be more relevant today than back in 1996. Aside from all the other comforts that run on electricity we enjoy, can you imagine a weeks long power outage that cripples the internet and the ability to charge your phones? David Keopp is kind of an underrated screenwriter and part time director, and this may be his most underrated work. Also, this has one of James Newton Howard's best scores! |

I enjoyed the Trigger Effect when it first came out. Will definitely get it on blu-ray. I don't think I owned it on DVD, maybe VHS. |

I have a soft spot for Trigger Effect because the opening scene with the tracking shot into the movie theater is the where I held my first job, The Hollywood Galaxy. The place is a gym now, I think. Nice to have a record of how it looked. The outside was also seen in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (movie).

Excellent news.
"The Trigger Effect" is an excellent movie, the kind that 'they' just won't make any more. í saw it in a San Francisco cinema, on my first ever trip to North America. Chosen at random, and swiftly, to get into the dark to avoid burgeoning sunstroke. From the opening tense scenes in an American movie 'theater' (seeing it in my first ever American movie 'theater') the film was a thrilling little head twister. Beautiful 'movie' cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (note ~ if you don't like 'blue' nights, avoid this picture!) It entertains, grips and makes you think ~ what more can you ask? And it made me forget that my face was melting off at the time. í haven't seen it in a while, but í would imagine that it would be just as thought-provoking now, despite, or even because of, all the technical changes in society since the Mid-90s. í downloaded an HD copy a few years back that didn't look too shabby, but doubtful that it will be a new scan or the like, given the provenance of this release. Trivia ~ Andrew Kevin Walker (scriptwriter of "SE7EN") has a creepy cameo as Ball Bouncer... |

Mill Creek: ![]() Reviewed by Martin Liebman https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-T...246140/#Review The Mill Creek release is an abomination. It actually looks taped-based sometimes. Yes, it's better than DVD. Just. |
