Default Variety: 'Universal's commitment to backing HD DVD exclusively has ended'

This may be just one of those articles that has no proof and just speculation but an interesting read again.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...goryid=20&cs=1

Quote:
"Daily Variety has confirmed that Universal's commitment to backing HD DVD exclusively has ended. And Paramount has an escape clause in its HD DVD contract allowing it to release pics on Blu-ray after Warner Bros.' decision to back that format exclusively.

This is the article that came out first and is posted elsewhere. It has since been confirmed that they were only saying that Universal's exclusivity contract is up, but they don't know if there is a switch in place.
