Default 13 Fanboy (New Friday the 13th-Inspired Slasher Film)

Still in pre-production, but there's already a great cast lined up including many of our favorites from the Friday the 13th franchise. Most recent addition is original Friday final girl Adrienne King!

Totally forgot about this until a teaser just popped up on YouTube but the production values look way better than I expected.

Man, the description of this film totally calls me name...

“13 Fanboy brings your favorite Friday the 13th actors back to the big screen in an entirely new horror series about a fan, who takes his love for the series too far and targets the real-life women from the franchise to kill them like they were killed in the Friday films or "improve" their deaths.”

but loses me a bit here...

13 Fanboy melds the slasher-style kills that Friday is famous for and the heart-pounding thrillers such as Cape Fear.”

I don’t want to watch a ramped up Cape Fear. I’m really curious what this movie is going to end up feeling more like, a slasher or a thriller.

It's not Friday the 13th but I really enjoyed it. Very impressive considering the tiny independent film budget.

My DVD just arrived from Amazon. It was pretty good. It was fun for what it was. It wasn't a canonical entry into the series. They "Wes Craven's New Nightmared" the whole thing by saying "the movies were just movies, and this is reality."
[Show spoiler]They did a horrible Scream sip-off scene at the end.
I'm glad that I own it. I probably will not rewatch it much. It was nice to see those legacy actors in a movie again.

Does anyone know about the German release of this film?

https://www.amazon.de/13-Fanboy-Blu-...A3JWKAKR8XB7XF

I'm thinking about ordering it...was curious if anyone can speak on it (quality? bootleg?)

Thanks!

It’s not part of a series to be a canonical entry into anything, nor was it ever presented as such.

I saw this on Showtime on-demand months ago. I didn't like it.
