Default Suggestion that I hope is taken into consideration..

When a movie gets an announcement, can we get an "Official Batman Begins Thread" or "Official The Rock thread"?
One thread per movie, and others can be pulled into them.
I get so sick and tired of having to wade through 50 threads saying "gosh the rock was a keen movie" "gosh dragon wars sucked" and so on.
It would clean things up greatly and make the boards less of a cluster ****.
I would make the threads myself but I do not want to get a pm or something and I think it would be more effective and last longer if it was supported on the mod end too.

We plan to add one official thread for each movie shortly.

Not a bad idea. There could just be a link in the Forum tab that's already on each movie page in the movie section. But man, there's so many Blu-Rays now, it'd be good to get it started now.

I like that idea, but there are two potential problems.

When movie pages become 10+ pages long, it's impossible and daunting to join into the discussion. I don't know how to combat that problem, but I can see it being one. Especially when people come along and make posts like "+1" or "lol ".

And also, I think they would have to be in their own section of the forum, because it would be too confusing to have 30+ movies stickied at the top of the "Blu-ray Movies and Releases" section. Too much sticking and stickying would lose it's meaning.

I don't know what the new forum section would be called, but someone cleverer than I am could come up with something.

Great idea though! Be nice if it were alphabetized somehow by movie title, as the list grows...

+1...no j/k good point and another thing is when they merge topics from the people who cant search, try reading that and keeping up with whats going on, pretty hard. But its not a perfect world so these are things we deal with and move along

I agree, well would it be possible for people to give thumbs up to a post just like how you can rate a thread with stars just so it does not take up extra posts with the +1?
I think it is nice that there is someone in the world that agrees with what you have to say but do we need the whole thing re quoted and the just the +1,+2,+32934298238, might cut down a whole lot of wasted space yet still make the op feel special.

Their own section would be nice. Call it NEW BD Movie Discussion and have one for old releases as well.

A refreshing prospect. Even though this is an outstanding measure you'll be taking, it will still be difficult seperating the serious Forum Members, from the silly forum members. An impossible task, that I see 'no' solution too! [Jim]

Default Suggestion for sorting fxn

I like the additions to the movie sorting functions (Great job BR.C) - I'd like to suggest a couple more.

May I also suggest sorting by type of audio track available (DD+, DTS-HD MA), video encode (AVC, VC-1, MPEG-4, MPEG-2), and aspect ratio. Just a thought...

Thanks, Doc

Why not just use the search Search Movies page? There you can search for most things.

To quote Darth Vader... "Most Impressive!" Sorry folks, did not realize that functionality was already available (Psst... so it shouldn't be all that tough to add it to the sort function )

If you don't like the redundancy, how 'bout a "Lossless" sort field? (and I refer you back to the aspect ratio thing... Highest-to-lowest criteria, of course)

BTW, I tried using the search movie page... under audio: dts-hd ma seemed to work, but Dolby true hd returns no results, so can we add that, or use a pull down to select audio search criteria? Thanks.

It has to be spelled exactly as on the movie listing pages, just search for "truehd" and it should work.

Question View results as list

While or after searching the movie DB (Let's say you want all the DTS-HD MA discs)... It'd be helpful and space-saving to see the results as a list instead the mini-description with picture. As the DB grows, it will become less and less convenient to go page after page of titles in the mini-description format, to view as a list makes your browse quicker.

I remember seeing lists before (and yes, the minidescripts look great - good work!) but at 20 movies per page it's cumbersome when you just want to scan real quick.

I went looking for a list of DTS-HD MA movies (to see which ones I own), and now only see 20 per page.

How about a choice on the Sort-By pulldown to View Results as a List? Thanks...

Cheers, Doc.
