Default Catch and Kill (Brian De Palma)

De Palma: “Because my years of working in and out of Hollywood you were very aware of the kind of abuse to women that was going on. And being a director who directs women all the time you are very sensitive in how they are treated in the movie that you are making. So I was aware of some of the things that were happening during the Harvey Weinstein era and it is an interesting story to tell, plus, I like the sort of suspense drama and I created a script that is sort of based on some of the real cases reported in the New York Times. But it is basically a suspense film using that as the historical backdrop. [Source]

I forgot to clarify that the project is currently being referred to as "Predator", though I doubt that'll end up being the official title, for obvious reasons - if it ever gets made.

Dig down deep enough and probably any famous person can have accusations made about them tbh. Women or men.

The truth is that it's so easy to make false and baseless accusations against people and suffer judgement in the court of the public without any evidence proving guilt. Some of these sick individuals do it merely for attention and some sort of "fame" etc.

However, i'm also interested to see what De Palma focuses on. Such things do also happen in reality and the "Casting couch" has long been a dirty secret of Hollywood. It does pickle your brain though when you have individuals who would overtly offer sexual favours in return for work then turn around and claim abuse in the media or exploitation etc.

Honestly, it's a minefield of victims and fakes.

The idea of a serious director like Brian De Palma doing a remake of a classic action movie like Predator is enough to give me a chubby.

I used to fantasize about Kubrick directing a Star Wars movie.

Or Scorsese directing a Rambo sequel.

...or David Lynch doing a Ghostbusters reboot.

I'm confused. I thought he was preparing to start shooting a movie with Wagner Moura in Paraguay called Sweet Vengeance?

Unfortunately, there have been no news whatsoever on that project since 2018.

It looks like they caught De Palma taking a nap in the OP's picture.

Thought for a second that this was Disney's attempt to try and salvage the franchise after Shane Black shat on it back in 2018
