Default Millennium - Chris Carter series

With The X Files being available on Blu I am now wondering whether an HD rendering of this seminal, intense series, the off shoot/spin off Millennium, with what I consider one of the best leading performances I have ever seen on television, from Lance Henriksen.

Who else would love to see this on blu too?

For sure! Season 2 is simply awesome. Never did finish season 3 -- the first few episodes did some really unfortunate, sloppy "walking back".

I remember feeling similarly disappointed at the time that Season 3 felt like a blandening of the show.

Watching it again a couple of years ago on dvd made me reframe that. There are some good episodes in that 3rd run too.

One of my favourite series, there is still much to enjoy in season 3. The Sound of Snow was a great episode.

I'm 1/2 through a re-watch of Season 2 now. I love the DVD box, back when each disc got it's own case, with descriptions of the content, etc.

But damn, I would kill for this on blu.

If I ever meet Lance, I would ask him "Did you make them put Bobby Darrin as a strong Frank Black character trait, in your contract for season 2?"

The series is uneven (that's what happens when you keep changing show runner) but Henriksen is excellent. I have the DVD set but would welcome a Blu-ray release.

I never saw Millennium when it first aired. I later found out about the show due to it's connection with The X-files, so I ended up watching the whole series on DVD circa 2010/2011. I then re-watched it around 2017/2018.

This show is - quite simply - superb. I know some mention a drop-off in quality in the third season & I won't argue with this - but, I still feel all three seasons are strong.

Really liked the Pacific Northwest setting; the gloom/overcast atmosphere really "fit" this series.

Millenium really pushed the envelope re: the horrific crimes that were being investigated, etc. Also, going along with this - the series was an unsettling look back at the tail end of the '90's, and the angst/concern everyone had about the forthcoming century (and Y2K was the least of this). The series had a very unsettling, disturbing quality that I haven't experienced with most/any?! other TV shows I've seen, and was also an interesting time capsule of the late '90's era.

So, yes - I would definitely welcome this show Blu.

Frank Black: A roving, freelance, forensic profiler!

I was disappointed that the show doesn't get much fanfare on this site, aside from this wishlist thread (no forum entry on the show's releases page, as for instance X-files has).

But it turns out that there's an excellent site dedicated to the show. I found the transcript for episode "JOSE CHUNG'S 'DOOMSDAY DEFENSE".

So here it is, and there's probably more episodes where that came from, for those of you with upbeat enough drive to search them out:

Especially now with the ridiculous prices being demanded for Season 3 on DVD, I would very much welcome a long-overdue Blu-ray set. With disney in charge now, it doesn't look good. Does anyone know why the Season 3 DVD is so expensive? Lower production number perhaps?

Since The X-Files got the Blu-ray treatment, Millennium should be a walk in the park with only three seasons. I just know if I buy the DVD sets at their extortionist prices, the Blu-ray will be announced, lol.

I wonder if season 1 will retain the 4:3 aspect ratio, or if they'll match it to seasons 2 and 3.

I'm just about to start watching season 3 on DVD for the first time (yes, I've lowered my expectations after the fantastic season 2), but I'd buy this on blu in a second if it were released. Hell, I'd even rewatch the whole thing if it were streaming in HD somewhere.

My heartbeat added here. The most deeply affecting series of the 90s for me.
