Default Friends 4k DCPs

The 12 wide gamut 4k DCPs for FRIENDS just show in theaters looked amazing.

It did great business too, made daily top 10 theatrical gross lists each night.

And they were not kidding when they said the new HS generation has gotten mad into it. Theater had tons of current HS kids, easily more than half the audience for Wed, not just those who were in HS/college/20-something when it first came out.

My theater had it in their largest seating capacity auditorium and was packed all three days and virtually sold out on Saturday. Over 300 people for every showing, close to 400 for Saturday night. Looked impressive with these new masters and on a large 55' screen with top projection. Seeing it with a huge crowd was a cool experience too.

Can only hope they decide to give it UHD release now, at the absolute least for these 12 episodes already re-mastered in 4k wide gamut.

While I think they are too young and immature for it, my two 10-year-old nieces watch and love the show. My 13-year-old watches episodes we let her watch and thinks it's funny too. As much as I love this show and have watched each episode multiple times (even watched an episode last night), those 6 characters are not a good influence on impressionable young minds. Sorry for my old man dad rant.

On the topic of 4K. If they take the time to remaster the extended episodes from the DVD set, I'm all over that. If not, I'll stick with my DVDs and iTunes HD.
