I don't hate it, I just don't like that everything (especially comic book movies) is expected to be in a "cinematic universe" now. That needs to die. One or two sequels is fine, but having to plan everything just so movies can be daisy chained is absurd.

The MCU is king of the (cinematic) world right now. It is not hated. Some fans are oversensitive to any criticism, though, hence the mistaken impression.

Also, why is this a thread when there's a dedicated one for the MCU?

Because people like to hate on things that are popular, it is that simple. You've also got the people who think the MCU is an insult to their thought provoking, deep, moving films lol.

My guess is, because of the MCU fanboys hating on all comic adaptions besides the MCU and calling people who don't like it names, they decided to fight fire with fire.

If a movie isn't good then it'll get called out for it. It isn't even a fight either. Dark Phoenix was a bigger bomb than Fant4stic and Endgame was the biggest movie of all time. No competition. As usual, the ridiculous remarks and opinions on the internet do not reflect the real world. Captain Marvel is another great example of that.

I like films based on quality/entertainment so I never look at anything based on studios or cinematic universes or whatever.
