Default Issue with Sound While Gaming - PS3 Setup? - Need Help

Hey Guys, Ok im having a strange problem that im hoping someone out there can help with. Ill try to explain this as best I can. When I set up the sound options (checking the boxes for different codecs, DD, DTS...) I have this done automatically, and it will check DD, DTS, and a bunch of PCM 2 channel and 5 channel boxes. Now, when i go to play a game, for example, Call of Duty 4, It will not run in DD, but a PCM Multichannel as it says on my receiver. If i go into the settings again, and uncheck everything except DD and DTS, then it will finally play in DD. The sound seems better in DD than the PCM Multichannel. Now, why would this be happening. Currently if i play a game i have to uncheck the boxes, but to watch a movie uncompressed, i have to go back and recheck the boxes. Can anyone help with this. Let me know if you need more info...

The PCM you are getting is the same as DD, it has just already been decoded. You should just check all the PCM's so that you dont have to change back and forth when you watch a movie.

Ok, I was thinking that might be it, but I could have sworn that the sound was much different when the receiver showed DD compared to when it was showing PCM Multi...
