Ledger was at the perfect time for me, when I was 17 and just starting to take movies seriously as an art form. His portrayal may always be my favorite in live action, but we’ll see. I was excited to see what Leto did with the role following his career performance in Dallas Buyers Club, and well... he was shit. Nicholson and Hamill were my Jokers as a kid. I guess I would say Ledger, Phoenix, Nicholson, Romero, and Leto, but Hamill is still my idea of the quintessential Joker, live action or not.

They're all great performances of different versions of the character. Apart from Leto. He sucked.
