I actually am a paid subscriber to The Information, which tends to drop a lot of exclusive info before everyone else picks it up. Today: https://www.theinformation.com/artic...eyes-vudu-sale
Note that PlayStation Vue, which just announced it's closure was preceded by The Information discovering Sony wanted to sell it a week ago: https://www.theinformation.com/artic...t-on-streaming |

With the shutdown of UV and MoviesAnywhere not being with every studio, you are going to have A LOT of unhappy customers whose movie libraries will seemingly be depleted if they sell off VUDU and the new seller doesn't honor those past purchases.

If WM sells it, InstaWatch will be discontinued probably... and I'll never need to bother trying to find something new at WM ever again lol

I did not expect to hear the world's largest retailer is wanting to sell Vudu.

This is terrible news, mostly because even just reading that they are considering selling makes me think twice about buying anything from Vudu that isn't MoviesAnywhere. I can't be the only one feeling this way, which is bad for business and could speed up Vudu's demise, leaving me with a huge hole in my digital movie collection. Of course, even that wouldn't sting as much if studios like Lionsgate and Paramount just joined MA or WB, Disney/Fox, Universal and Sony joined forces to bring us TVAnywhere.

I'd be just as fine if Amazon or Google Play stepped in and allowed us to sync our entire Vudu into them. Would stop the sting too.
That is if it closes. |

I would say no. Especially for studios that are not part of MA I am guessing these studios are paying some type of fees for MA so would not make sense for them to just allow that for non MA studios
