Default When Black Friday comes

It's almost time for the Black Friday sales. What are you hoping to get a good deal on this year?

I have a small list but I'm mostly hoping to get Endgame and Captain Marvel for a decent price. Maybe even Spiderman FFH if it's cheap enough. There have been a lot of catalog titles released on 4K that I haven't bought but it would have to be real nice price for me to upgrade. Like $8 or less.

Hopefully some cheap catalog deals like Lionsgate had last year.

I'm just getting into 4K so I'm in the same boat (Except $10 is the sweet spot for me). I've been buying several used 4Ks from eBay and Amazon and so far I've been lucky. All the 4Ks I've played so far have worked perfectly. My current Samsung tv is only HD but I'm getting incredible playback on both audio and video using my 4K receiver and 4K Blu-ray player. I will be looking at 4K tv sales also.

I’m hoping for a few Lionsgate UHD titles, maybe Lock Up really cheap. Since Disney has dumped so much of their Marvel and Pixar titles in UHD all at once (like always) in the last couple of months, I’m really banking on getting a good deal on some of those. Spider-Man FFH as well.

For 4K, planning to import Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 (because the American covers are so bad) and Escape from New York (because I've never seen it and I had fun watching some Carpenter movies a couple of months ago). Maybe They Live as well. Not sure. For American 4K versions, possibly replacing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with the 4K, and perhaps Dredd (which I watched once on Blu-ray).

For Blu-rays, I wanna get The Sweet Smell of Success, but it depends on how much Criterion's exorbitant prices are reduced. Also, I wanna get The Exorcist, as I've never seen it, but the theatrical cut is expensive as **** (30 dollars), so who knows?

Nothing is a hugely burning desire, but I have a few movies that I'd spring for a 4K and/or steelbook upgrade if they were sufficiently cheap. Maybe if that Daniel Craig 007 collection is cheap or something.

I have a small list this year, but I'm curious how low some of the prices may be to get me to bite!

For me, I hope to get a good deal on a ton of catalog titles that I don't own yet in my collection. For more recent movies, I hope to score a deal on Spider-Man FFH, F&F Hobbs & Shaw, Angel Has Fallen (it comes out on Thanksgiving week, lol!), Hellboy 2019, Godzilla KotM, etc.
Also may grab a couple of video games as well.

Is this thread title a Steely Dan reference? That makes me happy.

... I just pray my wallet is somewhat concordant with the size of my appetite! I was spoiled twice with big orders this year and scratched and scraped to get a 16-18$/title ledger since.

I doubt you will find many good titles on 4K for $8 or less. Much less during Black Friday. T2 is under $8, but again we're talking food titles and I really don't those will be that cheap.

That's very doubtful. Most of the "good titles" don't go for $7.99-$9.99. Remember T2 is $7.99 and there is that adage that you get what you pay for. By the way, I'm all for a great deal, but the studios should not be selling thier 4K movies for $10 or less. They may run the risk of cannabilizing themselves if they do.
