Queen & Slim looks awful. Frozen should remain on top.

Looking forward to both but between them Knives Out will do better if for no other reason than the massively larger marketing budget.

Edit - Do Disney animated sequels ever do gangbusters, usually they are straight to video?

We haven’t really had one this decade other than Ralph Breaks the Internet, which performed fairly well around this time last year. The sequels to films the audience DOES want.....like Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Moana....haven’t happened yet.

If we’re talking Pixar, then yeah, sequels like Incredibles 2, Finding Dory, Toy Story 4, all made big money in their respective runs.

Both movies look fantastic, but I agree that Frozen will repeat, with Knives Out claiming number 2. It's hard to call how well Queen & Slim will be, despite being a main Universal Pictures release (and not something like Focus Features), it's defiantly appealing more to the older viewers and independent films buffs. I'd honestly be shocked if it even cracks the top 5.

Shame, it's one of the best films this year and definitely belongs in the conversation of great movie sequels. It's Blade Runner 2049 all over again, a great sequel to an excellent classic film that people decided not to see. It's honestly depressing.

I keep hearing people say they had no idea it was a sequel to the Shining. I guess the marketing needed to spell it out more for them.

Anyone that saw the trailers and did not know it was a sequel to The Shining, probably never saw The Shining.

Was the music at the end of the trailer coupled with Ewan looking through the hole in the door not blatantly obvious enough for them?

Underwater trailer literally spelled out the title letter by letter lol

There's the possibility that a lot of people don't know or don't care about The Shining. It's hard for us cinephiles to believe it, but general audiences tend not to be as passionate about "old" movies as we are.
