Remember when James Wan was supposedly developing a horror spinoff of The Trench? They could you write a really nice coffee table book about all th DC movies that were "announced" to be in development and never came out.

I would think an HBO Max streaming series would be better suited and more likely for this concept, much like the upcoming Dune: Sisterhood series. Basically a companion series for the main movies.

Weren’t you just saying the Snyder Cut should go on there too?

Yes, I did. I think if Warner Brothers were smart, they should invest in that to compete with Disney+ and Netflix. I don't want HBO Max to just be a vault for past WB and DC productions. They need worthwhile exclusive content. Also, I don't think every pitch thrown at them needs to be a feature length theatrical release. Amazons and The Trench are support characters to Wonder Woman and Aquaman, not necessarily things that need their own films. We got very lucky with Joker, but not every concept, especially when it comes to supporting characters or villains, is deserving of its own movie. There are other DC concepts and characters that are more deserving of that spotlight.

The Trench is still in development.. I'd expect it in 2021.

“I’m not going to nail down a fresh thought about it until this movie comes out, because I kind of want to give myself a palette cleanser, and be fresh of mind,” she explains. “But yeah, there’s an arc that I have in mind for the first movie, and then the second movie, and then the Amazon movie, and then the third movie.”

However, despite having a plan, Jenkins does not see herself helming the spin-off. “I’m not going to direct it, hopefully,” she smiles. “I’m going to try really hard not to. It’s not going to be easy. But [WW84 co-writer and former DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer] Geoff Johns and I came up with the story, and we sold the pitch, and we’re going to get it going. I’ll produce it, for sure.”

It'd be great if they included Artemis.

I wonder if they're making a story about Hippolyta and Antiope's early years?

Don't forget the Scorsese-Di Caprio Joker, Man of Steel 2, the Green Lantern sequel they insisted was still happening after the Ryan Reynolds film flopped, the George Miller Justice League or Wolfgang Petersen's BvS and Burton's Superman Lives.

What can you tell me about what comes next for Wonder Woman?

The story continues after this in movies that I may or may not direct, but I have two more stories that become the completion of this story and it’s all about women stepping in as women, in the most loving kind pure and natural way. And making a difference in the world without having to change who they are to do it.

Well, maybe this will be better than Jenkins' directing work on the WW films.

As a fan of WW. I feel like I haven't gotten what a WW would be like. Snyder did fine for her intro but Jenkins' hasn't impressed. She just comes off as regular journeyman director. Which is at odds w/ how valued WB thought it was to get a female director for it. Gadot doesn't make it any better w/ her average acting skills. She looks great as a WW but... eh, she ain't that good to lead anything.

Michelle MacLaren was the original choice and left over creative differences. Which probably was issue with Johns.

There has to be a reason Jenkins went 14 years between director jobs.
