Germany Charmed: The Complete Series - Koch Media - June, 2021

This set can now be ordered on Amazon.de. They ship internationally and don't charge VAT on orders outside Europe so it is much cheaper than Koch for American customers.

Charmed: The Complete Series Blu-ray

Charmed: The Complete Series is coming out on in June, 2021. It is confirmed to be region-free!

More:
The hardcover box will contain all 178 episodes in high definition on 40 Blu-ray discs . The total running time of the series is approx. 7,762 minutes. In addition, the complete set as a book edition contains an extensive booklet, stickers, character cards and a map of San Francisco . The bonus material with a total running time of 214 minutes includes a making-of, featurettes, the unpublished pilot episode and audio commentary on three episodes. Most of the extras are already known from the DVD release of the series. Brand new is the exclusive, approx. 20-minute interview “A magical experience” with James L. Conway on Blu-ray Disc. Both the German and English sound is in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 , there are German and English subtitles and a picture coding in 1080p, 1.78: 1, AVC is used. We are also pleased to announce to all readers from far away that the Blu-rays will be region code-free and thus playable on all Blu-ray players worldwide.

So no more crystal/cat collar. The back reads in English: No one can seperate the power of three; I would have loved for them to write "The Power of Three will set us free" but whatever.

Interesting, guess the remaster is just about done (I think so far, broadcasters have only received up to Season 7 in HD).

I haven't kept up with things too much, but did Germany get the 16:9 remaster or the 4:3 remaster?

acording to a source close to the company, they got the 16:9 version. It was said last week by someone that the remaster was completed now. I also believe seasons 7 and 8 will air on 6ter in france. 7x01 starts Thursday 19th December and it is supposedly in HD

Now I'm wondering if I should wait on the box set or still get the individuals season here in the states.

I hope except the English & German audio-subtitles...English subtitles to included too, and the discs will be region free. More languages would be more ideal, but is a German release.

Well, from what I read the US is getting Season 3 in early 2020, so it seems that the individual season release is still taking priority.

Though due to them being MOD releases, perhaps they'll release the individual season + full series around the same time?

Season 3 will get a release in Spring 2020, and the discs will be pressed...maybe because they changed the discs on MOD, from burned to pressed...that's why gave the rights to other distributor

Anybody knows if CBS has sent the correct seasons (goof fixes, 4:3 frames, etc) to Koch Films?? or if they sent them the aired version with all those goofs?

Koch hasn't gotten any materials yet as production hasn't started so far. The contract was just fully finalized a couple days ago and production on both MacGyver and Charmed will probably not start before sometime next spring or summer. In any case, if the mastering problems have been fixed by the time CBS makes the masters available to Koch, then the BDs will include the corrected version as well.

I have many questions:

1- There are blurbs that CBS did not correct in the final version of Charmed S01 and S02 (that made it to blu-ray) like crew members still in the shot or crew equipment visible; can those be fixed?

2- Can you print English title discs instead of German? CBS is unwilling to offer a complete version so international buyers want to buy it as well. Will it be like the first season disc artwork? Will there be a possibility for a multi-language options including French and Spanish audio/subtitles?

3- Will there be interactive menus like the first season that was released by Paramount?

4- Each season will contain how many discs? Can you make them all 5 discs per season so that the compression does not take a hit? CBS shrunk S02 to 4 discs, please avoid that.

Thanks!

Need to contact CBS to fix 4:3 frames, goofs and some other mistakes, before they give the episodes to Koch Films.
Most of them on Seasons 1 & 2 have been fixed but still some remain, and for Seasons 3-6 still remain.

5 discs was already pushing it to begin with. Each season would be better off with at least six discs, especially if this set contains lossless audio.

I'll make sure all of your suggestions reach my friends at Koch, but I can't comment on anything at the moment since I'm not actively involved with Charmed but only their external MacGyver expert.

But yes, as mentioned above, any mastering problems will definitely have to be fixed by CBS. Koch has no way to influence or edit any of those errors and can only use what CBS hands out to them.

As for languages, I don't know, but I'm almost certain it will be English and German only since it's usually a license for Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. Of course, it's a nice side-effect that fans from other countries can get the set, too, if they order it through Amazon or some other German store, but it's not a release that's officially directed at a world-wide customer base. That would require a much more extensive (and thus much more expensive) license, which just doesn't make sense to get if you don't have active retail distribution in those countries.

I don't think it will in HD - just putting the complete in SD on bluray disc like they did with other Shows

Koch Media has not released any shows in SD on Blu-ray. Perhaps you're confusing them with Turbine Medien.
