Here are my picks for worst Christmas specials/episodes
5. The A Charlie Brown Christmas sequels (It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown /Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales/I Want A Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown) 4. It's A SpongeBob Christmas (While the stop motion and some parts are great I always feel bad for Plankton with the Krabby Patty formula except for the first movie. ![]() ![]() 3. Dexter vs. Santa's Claws (Dexter's Lab): I can see why people didn't like it over the years, it was just too mean spirited. 2. The Simpsons- Miracle on Evergreen Terrace- Bart made a huge fat lie (and ruined Christmas.) Only redeeming quality is hearing Bob Willis and Texas Playboys' recording of "Santa's on His Way" over the end credits. It sounds like the Little Audrey theme, which I wouldn't be surprised because the second arrangement of that theme and "Santa's On His Way" were recorded the same year. 1. Teen Titans GO! Christmas Specials- How can they crank out that many that fast? What's yours? |

I can't really think of any bad animated Xmas specials or episodes, but that is definitely not one of them. |

Bojack Horseman - Sabrina's Christmas Wish
Probably the worst episode of the entire series. Instead of taking an opportunity to make a legitimately quality Christmas special with Bojack's usual quality writing, it's instead just Bojack and Todd watching a Christmas episode from Bojack's crappy sitcom. It's just completely lazy. |

![]() ![]() I might go with Cricket on the Hearth. I love most Rankin/Bass specials, but this one bothers me. The animation is not great and the story is drab and slow. I don’t understand how a child could sit through it. The story is depressing. For an adult, it might be ok. Just not a Dickens classic I would have animated. |

![]() However, the sequels were nothing but comics cut-and-pasted together clumsily and with no sense of direction. And they made fun of the original and modernized it. (Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales is the worst of the bunch, I turn off my TV whenever the credits are finished rolling for "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Things like expanding on the message Linus delivered in the original by having Charlie Brown say "Why does it have to be this one day of the year"? And even sacrilege like Lucy saying "I found the word 'sister' in the Bible! You have to give me a present" is hard to stomach. The original had heart even if the filler pieces felt like something out of one of the sequels). I looked at the plot on Wikipedia and the Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales (again not to be confused with A Charlie Brown Christmas) and it's MUCH worse than I remembered.
