This is where we have the birds and the bees conversation.
There was at least 3 years between AOTC & ROTS. When a man loves a woman, they sometimes decide to have a baby. When they make this choice, the man gives the woman a special gift that makes a baby in her belly. 9 months later, that special gift comes out ready for the world. So yes.... it would be impossible for her to have conceived during AOTC.... unless the Jedi have some type of super ***** that can just chill out for a few years before activating. |

I tried watching it the other day and it was more boring than I remember it. Then I watched RotS and was amazed at how I could have watched that without seeing AotC and understand it completely.
I saw for the last month or so people claiming that this trilogy at least had some sort of structure and I honestly can't see it. This is the most disjointed trilogy I've seen with three films that barely have a connection to each other. |

![]() It's absolutely essential to the overall story of the Prequel trilogy, just like TPM and ROTS. |

Yoda in the youngling scene is my all time favourite, but it would be fantastic to see the ROTS Yoda in AOTC for consistency's sake alone. Also, it looks much better. Perfect, really. |

I am trying to think about what could possibly be so important in TPM and AotC that RotS can't happen wothout. Anakin still start as a "good" guy in RotS, characters still act dumb in order for the plot to happen. I guess maybe the senate temporarily giving up its powers in order to won the war and all the convoluted political stuff, but I don't think RotS really needed all that exposition, and that exposition really didn't deserve two whole films.

* The return of the Sith after hundreds of years of peace * The introduction to the Trade Federation & the Republic * Palpatine's role in removing Chancellor Vallorum from office, as well as his other slow manipulation of Padme & the Senate, primarily through pitting the Trade Federation & the Republic against each other. Vallorum was controlled by bureaucrats, and Palpatine used this to his advantage to convince the Senate into making him chancellor. Palpatine knew Vallorum wouldn't stop the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo, and so Palatine had the Federation invade the planet, and then manipulated Padme into calling a vote of no confidence so he could gain office. * Anakin's past as a child slave, and how it shows that the Republic has failed to properly protect many people & systems, which gives us extra context as to why many people supported the CIS, and later the Empire. * The formation of the Separatist Alliance after Palpatine uses Count Dooku to convince the Trade Federation & other systems like the Banking Clan & the Techno Union division that oppose the Republic's corruption & failures * Anakin's relationship with his mother Shmi, and her murder, followed by his immediate slaughter of the Tusken Raiders, leading him down a dark path. This is also vital in understanding Anakin's loyalty to Palpatine in Ep 3. Prior to Shmi's death, Anakin had many dreams of her suffering & dying, which came true. Anakin foresees the same thing happening to Padme in childbirth, and is desperate to stop it. * The arrogance & hypocrisy that the Jedi Order had fallen prey to, and how it led to their downfall. Across the trilogy, they are blind to many of the events that are transpiring, and when they do finally realize the truth (when Mace Windu learns Palpatine is the Sith lord they are looking for), they're ultimately too late and are now powerless to stop him. Had they not 'lost their way', they would've been able to have kept the Republic intact. For instance, in Ep 1 they deny the possibility that the Sith have returned, while Palpatine has already been using Maul to carry out his plan. They only accept the Sith have returned after Maul kills Qui-Gon. This continues on, and their later roles as Generals in the Clone Wars goes against their intended role as keepers of the peace, instead becoming soldiers for the Republic. * Dooku's past as a former Jedi, who left the order after witnessing the flaws of modern Jedi council, and the corruption of the Republic. Dooku's past also serves as foreshadowing for Anakin's turn in Episode 3, as he too becomes frustrated with the Jedi Order. * The reasons behind the creation of a clone army & the Clone Wars, as well an explanation for how a group as powerful as the Jedi were killed so quickly & effectively by the Empire. * Qui-Gon's dying wish for Obi-Wan to train Anakin as a Jedi, which plays a major role into why he felt so much personal responsibility over Anakin's turn to the dark side in Ep 3 ("I have failed you Anakin, I have failed you").
