Default Anna Magnani on Blu-ray

With the just released Criterion film "The Fugitive Kind" we finally get a third film with the great actress Anna Magnani on Blu-ray (The first being Fellini's Roma and the second, Rome: Open City all on Criterion). Looking further, it has come to surface that there are hardly any films with Anna Magnani on Blu-ray. This is a real tragedy, since she is considered among the finest actresses of the 20th century. So far I have complied a list of films that seriously needs to be seriously considered by the film industry to re-look into this omission on Blu-ray. A good start would be for Criterion to acquire the various film rights to do a film retrospective of her, like they did for Marlena Dietrich recently. Hopefully, sooner than later there will be more films released on Blu-ray for all her fans to enjoy and re-visit this great actor's body of work.

The List (not complete):

The Rose Tattoo
Wild in the Wind
Momma Roma
The Secret of Santa Vittoria
The Golden Coach
Bellissima
Volcano
L'Amore
La cieca di Sorrento
Avanti a lui tremava tutta Roma
Correva l'anno di grazia 1870
