Turkey Bolts & Blip - Battle Of The Lunar League 3D Blu-ray (2013) [Region Free]

From the makers of The Nut Job

Did a search and only found mention of disappointment there was no 3D Blu Ray for the TV show. I just skimmed through the Turkish 3D Blu Ray for the movie and it looked pretty darn good. The YouTube trailer makes it look like a cheap PS2 game but I was pleasantly surprised that it looks a LOT better on the disc. It looks like they got a budget for the movie, the animation quality is good enough for a theatre. Really nice looking actually with nice 3D. It’s Region Free with English Audio option. I can’t find any other Blu Ray (even flat) for this anywhere other than what seems to be a Brazilian 3D edition. Not sure this one will change you life but it’s better looking than a lot of those generic 3D animated movies from Germany.

I can tell you that the brazilian edition only has portuguese audio. So I would not recommend that one for non portuguese speakers. And I just snagged the only copy I could find of this Turkish edition on ebay. I also want to have it with english audio. So thank you for posting this.

From what I can find, this movie is a compilation of the last 4 episodes of the TV show.

https://boltsandblip.fandom.com/wiki...e_Lunar_League
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolts_and_Blip

It's possible that they either upped the budget for these episodes, anticipating the movie version, or went back an improved it a bit when creating the movie version and 3D render.

Oddly, the last five episodes of the TV show are called "Battle of the Lunar League" parts 1-5. The movie looks to exclude the first episode of the 5-parter.

Received my blu-ray today. Took about 2 weeks to arrive in the UK. Very well packed and overall I’m very happy with my purchase.

On a side note, just noticed that the seller is also selling the 3D blu-ray of The Illusionauts. I just purchased that one. It appears to be from the same distributor as bolts & blip and cames with english dts-hd 5.1.
The trailer made me feel like this was made for 3D and appears to have lots of pop outs.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-illus...R/324026057038

If anyone also bought this one, can you post a little review on the 3D and general movie?
Thank you

I wrote about Illusionauts in recent purchases. There’s something wrong with the encode and it seems like the Brazilian edition has the same problem, but not the Hong Kong

Thank you. Should have asked before purchasing.
Just emailed the seller to see if I can cancel my purchase.

P.s. - I’m assuming you are one of the recent purchases that show on this sellers page, correct?
He just emailed saying that we would have no problem in cancelling my order, but he did not receive any other complaints from other buyers.

I responded on another thread about Illusionauts and Bolts&Blip and want to to talk more specifically about Bolts & Blips here. I received over a dozen Brazilian titles a couple months ago and I haven't had time to watch them other than popping each in for a few minutes. But while Illusionauts looked great, I wanted to describe the strange experiences I had with Bolts&Blip.

For me, there's a problem with the Bolts&Blip transfer. When the images are static, the 3-D depth looks fine. But if any thing is moving quickly on the screen, like one of the robots, the object moving sort of stutters or shows kind of a strobing effect. It's hard to describe but moving things seem to phase in and out. It's hard to view especially when there's a lot of movement or robots running across the planet surface.

The end result was suffering from the kind of eye strain I haven't experienced since watching Shock Labyrinth. I'm not sure I made any sense, but I'll be watching this in 2-D from now on. Actually, since it's only in Portuguese, probably never.

I have this title coming in from Turkey in a couple weeks. I'll provide an update on the image differences, if any, between the Turkish and Brazilian releases.

Check that the disc isn't triggering the 'motion' settings on your tv or projector. Even though your tv settings may say the setting is turned off, for some reason some signals (24HZ) on certain discs flip it on.

So flick through the motion settings back to 'off' and see if that helps get rid of the look.

You got me slightly optimistic, but I checked my LG OLED65E6P and all my settings are off (and always remain off). While the movie was playing, I toggled back and forth on noise reduction (off), MPEG noise reduction (off), black level (low), real cinema (off), motion eye care (off), and trumotion (off). Image still looks like shit. Still, it was worth a shot.

Thanks

The Turkish releases arrived. I spent last night pleasantly watching a fine Turkish transfer of Bolts & Blip, with medium to strong 3-D and error free. It was a nice transfer and the definitive release to get (especially since it's in English, with English subs). I popped the Brazilian release back in and the 3-D strobing issues were glaring. Something is definitely wrong with that transfer.

BUT, w/o going into too much detail on this thread, The Illusionauts was a mirror universe. The Brazilian release is virtually flawless, whereas the Turkish release suffers for the 3-D errors that Pixote pointed to earlier. So avoid it.

In a nutshell, for Bolts & Blip, buy the Turkish release. For The Illusionauts, buy the Brazilian release.

I'm kind of perplexed, since it appears most 3-D releases seem to use the same transfer regardless of the country. The Brazilian Bolts&Blip and Turkish Illusionauts releases seemed like autoconversions.

My kids liked it. It's all right, but if it wasn't in 3-D, I never would have considered it. And definitely not for 21 pounds! (you can toggle the subs on/off).

It's only worth it as part of a package deal with other mostly mediocre movies. I recommend making a nice bulk purchase from idefix.com. Between an order last year and now, I ended up purchasing a bunch of titles I couldn't get in the states:

Blackie and Kanuto
Bolts & Blip
Cirque du Soleil: Journey of Man
Dark Country
Day of the Dead
Horrid Henry
Illusionauts (AVOID)
Jonas Brothers Concert (AVOID-- it's anaglyph here and everywhere)
Katy Perry: Part of Me
Super Hybrid

Is this actually authentic? The only place to buy is eBay, but that seller also lists The illusionauts 3D and it shows Turkish language, but this dsite only lists that as a China 3d movie. So I'm guessing that one is not authentic, any help would be appreciated.

They are authentic but The Illusionauts has problems as detailed in this very thread, just a couple of posts up.

The database is user-submitted, so just because a particular release isn't listed, doesn't mean it's illegitimate. It may have just not been added yet.
