Is there a press release for this? Hopefully this will be based on a new scan.

Cool. I enjoyed this quite a bit... Been a very long time since I last saw it though.... Wonder if it holds up.

Cool, hopefully the audio is a lossless version of the DTS mix from the US DVD, that one is apparently quite the earth-shaking experience.

Haven’t seen this in years but I actually thought this was excellent. It’s a distinctive remake and not just a cheap cash-in. I’ll certainly import this one.

It has been confirmed that it will have a lossless 5.1 track.
(They also say that it will be region locked, but they say that about every release of theirs (even if it is region free!))

YES!!!! Apparently it is a legendary low freq track, and I never saw the DVD, and was hoping a blu ray would show up! And we get HD and lossless!

Major nostalgic feels for this movie. It's not a good movie but i like it a lot and the production design is stunning.

It's funny how this film is less a version of The Haunting of Hill House and more Hell House.

it's not a great film but the visuals and especially the sound mix are demo worthy material.

Was this the first film to use DTS-ES 6.1? I know it was the first DVD release and the second film theatrically to use a 6.1 mix after The Phantom Menace (which used Dolby Digital 5.1 EX)

Yup, that's my feeling as well, amazing production design. I don't think it's anything like as bad as some people say it is, I enjoyed it. Apart from the original (which I have), just how many great haunted house films are there?

I mean, its not really scary at all, but I think most love for this comes out of the fun it is to watch and the production design. Literally the only reasons I like watching this; may pick this one up.

Just pre-ordered on Amazon $18. Demo worthy on DVD , hopefully reference on Blu-ray. Subwoofers at the ready

However, it did have 6.1 ES so why is it only 5.1 on BD

Only the US DVDs had the 6.1 track, all other releases were 5.1. So it'll just be a case of that's what was available I'd say. It's hardly the first example of a film with 6.1 on DVD and 5.1 on BD.

That's nice & cheap. I've yet to order direct from Australia, I usually wait 'till someone has it on sale for a reasonable price on eBay.

Nice! Amazon dropped the price to match also (good for Aussies).
