Default Paprika and Tekkon Kinkreet

Anyone ever see Paprika or Tekkon Kinkreet? I see good prices for those up at Amazon and thinking of getting them. Never seen either one but both look like good films and I saw some good reviews. Any opinions? How are they on BR?

I went to see Paprika in the theater and walked out within the first 15 minutes. I'm a fan of anime, but it just wasn't clicking with me.

Though it could've just been my mood that day. I was thinking about picking it up to give it another chance.

I have both of them. Tekkonkinkreet is awesome. Paprika isn't to bad either and it is definitely pretty weird in some parts. If you like smart anime as opposed to beat-em up anime, you'll probably like them both.

I think Tekkon Kinkreet is amazing. The PQ is top notch. I think if you like or are interested in anime, then I would certainly suggest this movie.

I bought both Blu-ray's when they came out, and liked both a lot.

Very surreal and bizarre, both of them. Definitely something you have to keep an open mind while watching.

I thought the PQ on both were pretty top notch as well.

I own Tekkonkinkreet, but haven't seen Paprika yet.

I generally don't like anime (outside of Miyazaki), but I rather enjoyed Tekkonkinkreet. It had a good style and outside of a couple things, it felt a lot more down to earth than most anime (at it's heart at least) -- it was mostly about two friends sticking with each other and needing each other to survive.

If it's in your blind buy range, go for it.

I've yet to see Paprika (but I really want to), so I can't say either way on that one.

I have Paprika on Blu. If you enjoy being mentally challenged like I do, it is a must own. The Audio alone is worth it. PQ is amazing.

Great story. Fans of movies like Memento will enjoy it thoroughly. So far it is one of my favorite BD movies. Great re-watch-ability factor.

I love them both more than anything. I've seen both of em twice on Blu so far.
Paprika i love more, but i'm a huge fan of Satoshi Kon(perfect blue, tokyo godfathers, etc.)

TekkonKInkreet was also amazing.

I liked Paprika so much that, after I returned my rental of it, I bought myself a copy.

I haven't seen Tekkonkinkreet yet, but I hear a lot of good things about it (I was actually thinking about making a thread here to ask about it).

I bought both of them, Tekkonkinkreet has some of the best animation combined with CGI I have ever seen. Looks superb on Blu-ray. Paprika, the animation wasn't up to par with Tekkonkinkreet but still great, I liked the Hi-NRG music, story is a bit complicated but still interesting, I would pick Paprika to be more entertaining and Tekkonkinkreet to be more impressive in animation.

Paprika is a psychological animated presentation. It was originally written as a story in a Japanese woman's magazine and was eventually, after 6 years of hard work, brought to life via animation. The animation itself is very detailed and colourful. The audio is well done and has pretty very well-known seiyuu like Hayashibara Megumi (a legend in the voice acting field). It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea but I found it very enjoyable.

I have Paprika sitting on my cart amazon but can't seem to make up my mind whether I want it or not.

I'm hoping Steamboy will come out on BD. I really enjoyed that one.

Hahahaha... I had to re-read that twice.

I'm not a big fan of anime, but there's been a few that I've enjoyed over the years. Nothing on Blu yet, but based on these recommendations I might pick them both up.

ha ha ha, let's just say they are challenging...
Well , Just like it was mentioned before Tekkon Kinkreet is so far picture reference for bluray and anime. Anime should and will have to look this way. The story is familiar to anime followers but I can also appeal movie and good-story fans.
