Wow, this has been one of my most anticipated releases for years and to potentially get an aussie release first in the world is amazing. Paramount have really turned things around and I hope they continue to not be in financial trouble

Am I missing an order link? Is this just an announcement? Will this be something that can be ordered from multiple merchants or just one?

It's from Madman's B2B website, which is intended for use by retailers who sell their products. The website is a good resource for finding out what releases are planned in the coming months (though the odd release is occasionally pulled/delayed without notice).

Their releases are usually available for pre-order directly from Madman and other retailers closer to release.

Oh man, I so hope this means other indies in the UK or US have got a shot at landing this. The 4K HDR stream looks stunning but I'd buy a local-release 2K SDR disc in a heartbeat.

Hopefully Madman doesn't go through with utilizing lossy DD as mentioned in the specs.

Any mention of them digitally erasing all the wires holding up the Martian 'manta ray' ships (which are very distracting!). Even Joe Dante said he'd be fine with a version like that. Can't wait to hear his commentary.

Yea the 4K remaster online gained some controversy over the wire removal. Personally I am fine with minor tweaks like this but altered CG, I do have a bit of a problem with

Vudu has it along with Itunes

Is the actual release of this limited -- or is it just the slipcover that's limited to 1500?

Limited to 1500 units? Is that for the LE packaging only, or 1500 units will be available and that’s it?

Will this get a later release in standard packaging?

The wording suggests that the deluxe packaging is limited to 1,500 units, however, it wouldn't surprise me if the release itself is limited to only 1,500 units as I can't imagine this being in particularly high demand.

But the more likely outcome is that Madman will issue a slightly cheaper SKU in standard packaging later on.
