Default Jurassic World (Live-Action TV Series)

Quote:

Hold on to your butts, dinosaur fans! While ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ has just begun filming, we’ve learned AMBLIN TELEVISION has begun developing a live-action Jurassic World series! Not much is known at this time, however the series has enlisted Jurassic alumni Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg as producers, alongside newcomers Justin Falvey, and Darryl Frank! It currently lists Vancouver, Canada as its primary production location, which is a film and TV hotspot, and where Jurassic World 3 did some filming recently.

Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey are the co-president’s of Amblin Television, where they oversees all development, production and programming for the company. The two currently serve as executive producers on all Amblin Television productions. Both recently served as executive producers on the acclaimed series The Americans on FX, starring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as KGB spies living in the US, which has been honored with four Emmys, a Golden Globe, two Peabody Awards, Critics Choice Award and is a perennial recipient of the AFI Award for TV Program of the Year.

While the plot remains more mysterious than the fate of Isla Sorna, the series is said to be part of the same continuity as the films, and tie into the upcoming ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’. The current state of its development and release date also remain under tight wraps, however its tie into the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel lead us to believe it’s aiming for a late 2021 or 2022 release. The platform also is unknown, however if we had to hazard a guess our eyes are on Universal Pictures streaming service “Peacock”. (Source)

I would check it out and give it a chance.
Universal is wise in doing this for their upcoming Peacock service just as Disney was with the Mandalorian.
They need to draw people to the paid service with exclusively created content. Jurassic Park could do that.
It's just up to them to give us something that will be good enough to support.

This will need very good VFX work to be watchable.

Yeah my mind immediately went to Terra Nova, which was a good show, but the dinos didn't look good enough to have supposedly cost so much money... but yet Primeval in the UK lasted multiple seasons so it must have been cheaper, but yet they looked better.

The recent Jurassic ParkWorld short looked good though so maybe they can pull off a TV series, which being on Peacock would basically mean they'll put more money into it.

NBC, Has already said the Peacock will have a free ad-supported option, as well as a paid ad-free version. both featuring the same original and catalog content.
So you dont have to pay for it, unless you want ad free

Peacock Free won't have as much as Peacock Premium (7,500 hours of content vs 15,000 hours) and will only have "freshman" series, while Premium will have shows that have been on air more than a year, or at least the currently running season of returning shows... and "select episodes" of originals. Premium will be like Hulu, pay less for a tier with ads ($5) and more for ad-free ($10)

https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/nbc...te-1203469722/

Also, we don't know if this ends up as Peacock... it probably will, but everybody's jumping the gun.

I would much rather see a TV Series adaptation of 2000 AD's Flesh.

I am not sure how it was made, but my guess is part of the challenge with Terra Nova wasn't so much budget as it was timing. With the show being made in a somewhat ongoing way like a lot of network TV, as opposed to something made all at once and then given time on the effects work for each episode, there simply wasn't enough time to fine-tune it all. Could be the difference? A lot of TV has, on a per-budget basis, pretty solid budgets that one may associated with "premium" TV series, but they still just don't look as cinematic with their CGI, etc.

I AM just speculating though.
