I'm glad he went out on a high note with Scream 4. Would've suck if his modern blunders were how his career ended. Though I don't fully blame him for Cursed or My Soul to Take, as apparently both were heavily interfered with by the studios.

Now that the Weinsteins are out of the picture, they really need to get on that original cut of Cursed.

I would be satisfied with a workprint cut, just to see how it would have looked like.
I read it was 90% finished. The producers were never satisfied with the ending.

The Serpent and the Rainbow is one hell of an underrated film.

Vinegar Syndrome is supposedly going to release The Fireworks Woman at some point.

I wish someone would get the rights to Scream and do a proper remaster. The current Blu-ray is just...awful. One of the worst transfers I've seen.

Yeah, the trilogy looks pretty fugly. It'd be ace to see the unrated cut of the film find its way to Blu-ray, but unless an indie label acquires the rights to the franchise, it's unlikely to happen.

Even though the Unrated cut is only like 20 seconds longer, it sure makes a difference. What a shame that it only made its way to VHS and LaserDisc.

Even with Craven gone, I still would be interested in a Scream 5.

Also, can anyone recommend Summer of Fear? I've been thinking of purchasing it for some time now, but keep putting it off. The "made for TV" thing concerns me even though I have a lot of outstanding TV movies in my collection.

It made it to a couple/few dvds too. I know there is a Japanese 16X9 transfer, but I never saw that disc. I have a Scandinavian dvd, but it's not anamorphic. Sure would be nice to see a nice looking version of it though. They've used the damn laserdisc commentary long enough on cut versions, put it back where it belongs!

Just this past weekend I watched Deadly Blessing for the first time. Weird little picture, middle-of-the-road Craven for me with only a couple memorable scenes. He assembled a nice cast though, and the script and film itself had a lot of his trademark ideas/techniques.

FYI: The Last House on the Left is still Craven's best film.

I know he was the executive producer of the first one, but not sure why he had no part after that.

I really hope we get Deadly Friend and Red Eye from Scream Factory. I know Red Eye isn’t technically horror but similar to John Carpenter I believe all Craven films will be through Scream. Or even a better label. Warner Archive could release a barebones DF with a new HD master.

Still a few more Blu holes needing to be filled. I would love the Scream series in 4K though as well as the original Elm Street.
